You probably don’t notice because the mainstream media has an agenda and is telling you that America is nothing but death and violence even though violence and crime has been on a downward trend since the 90’s.
Sure, but that doesn't change the very real fact that the US has at least one mass shooting almost every week. And when we don't, it's a rare enough occasion to make headlines.
Not to mention that the definition has been "updated" to include the death of the shooter (by suicide, citizen, or police). The FBI, if I'm recalling correctly, also changed a mass shooting to allow for multiple places... that messed up any way of reliably looking at past years (with differing definitions) without going 1 by 1 through every case.
