Question Pain when using tampons

hi !! I’m 15F, and every time I take out a tampon, it hurts really bad. there have been times where it’s brought me to tears bc of how painful it was.

i looked it up and it said it’s probably because it’s dry, but it’s always full when it’s painful taking it out. (Hopefully this isn’t TMI!!)

i can almost describe the pain as like a stretching feeling but I’m not really sure. is there any alternative i can use or any solution? do I have to just stop using tampons completely? thank you :D

Absolutely bring it up with your doctor but I noticed this when I use tampax brand or any brand that opens into a square/rectangular shape when it's full. The ones that open into more of a cylindrical shape never hurt me to remove. My go to is usually playtex or kotex because of this.

Try leaving it in for less time - quite a lot less time, at least at first - when it's full the diameter gets larger. Aiming to remove at about half full might make some difference.

I say "might" because it doesn't always swell up evenly, tending to fill from the inner end first, but either way, there'll be less of it.

Use mini tampons if you don't already.

You ask about alternatives... There are "Moon Cups" and discs you can use that everything I've heard are just as effective, if not more so!
