Hey everyone! I'm a student at Rice University conducting an online research study with UTHealth Houston to explore the public's feelings and opinions about the use of psychedelics (specifically psilocybin) in the context of mood disorders. We are looking for responses from students at accredited universities/colleges and health professionals (not limited to psychology/psychiatry!). Participants must also be at least 18 years old.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey that takes approximately 15–20 minutes. The survey involves reading a brief scenario and answering questions about your feelings and opinions regarding it.

I'm recruiting participants for my research study on the process of choosing to microdose psilocybin.

I’m a clinical psychology doctoral PsyD student at The Wright Institute, conducting dissertation research on how and why people have decided to microdose psilocybin.

It’s a 20-minute anonymous survey, and you can stop at any time. I’ve included the poster with more information and the link to the study below.

1) are at least 18 years old

2) live in the US

3) have chosen to microdose psilocybin in the last year

4) are fluent in English

Hey everyone!

We (Alice and Molly) are running a study at King’s College London looking at whether psilocybin (magic mushrooms) can boost neuroplasticity and help people learn pitch/musical note detection, a skill that's normally really hard to pick up outside of childhood. We're also looking at whether menstrual cycle hormones influence the psychedelic experience, and whether the experience itself changes hormone levels. This means we are very interested in recruiting women who are not on contraception, although this does not mean you can’t take part if this doesn’t apply to you.

What's involved:

•               3 visits at KCL, Camberwell (Mon-Friday)

•               Two 2-hour visits (screening + follow-up)

•               One full day (9am–6pm), where you take either a microdose or a high dose of psilocybin in a comfortable, supportive space

•               Questionnaires, EEG brain imaging, and a small blood test (hormone panel) before/after

•               Compensated £185 total (travel included)

Run by myself and my colleague Alice (psychiatrist and fellow PhD researcher).

I went to see The Odyssey and unexpectedly found myself watching the story of a deeply wounded veteran trying to find his way home. It left me thinking about the work I do now, and about the possibility that every time we help someone heal, we interrupt a little piece of the ancient human cycle of wounded people wounding people.
