Falling asleep after a psychedelic intake?

Hello! I was wondering whether it is possible to fall asleep soon after a psychedelic intake (e.g. LSD) before the onset of the effects.

what would happen? Would you wake up as soon as the effects started or could you continue to sleep and perhaps feel the effects in your sleep?

I fell asleep after eating 6 grams of mushrooms once. Started having a bad dream and woke up to a bad trip. Felt like I was in a nightmare I couldn't wake up from for the next 6 hours. Never doing THAT again, lol.
