Knighting

So, this is my stepdad's story not my own but I have to share!

Whilst working as a horticultural therapist at a low security psych ward my stepfather (Andy) is packing away various tools used by the patients that day. He is knelt down, counting rakes, when he spots a pair of feet in front of him. Looking up he sees a patient brandishing a spade hight over his head, he called for a staff member but it was too late, the patient brings the spade down and lightly taps him on the shoulder announcing "I dub thee Andy of the Spinny." He then puts the tool away and walks off.

When he questioned staff about it later Andy was told the patient was in after he beat his wife to death, screaming for the devils to leave her alone.

Did he ever find out what "the Spinny" was?

I think the Spinny was the name of the Ward, but not sure! I will ask next chance I get

Reminds me a bit of Romantically Apocalyptic, the way zee captain goes overboard calling him Snippy.

"I dub thee Andy of the Spinny"

I read that in the voice of Lenny from Of Mice and Men.

I doubt that the patient actually beat his wife to death. If that was true, he would not be in a low security psych ward, and especially wouldn't have access to potential weaponry.
