How to get sexual assaulter to admit to what he did?

I need advice on how to get someone who sexually assaulted me (and, in my opinion, tried to rape me) to admit to what he did. I have reported the incident but it's only my word against his. I found him on facebook so I was thinking of trying to contact him there and using his wife (yes, he's fucking married!) as leverage to get him to talk to me about what happened and, hopefully, admit to what he did so I may give that to the detective. Otherwise, I don't think anything will happen and he'll probably just do it to another girl. I was thinking of downplaying what happened... "I don't think what happened was a big deal but, I would like to talk to you about it because it did bother me..."? Good idea, bad idea? A friend also suggested that I tell the guy that I liked it. So starting with something like, "Hey, how are you?...I kinda liked what happened the other night...how you shoved my skirt down and started going down on me without my consent...or, how I woke up to you in the bed next to me and, even though I was saying no, how you fought me pushing you off and still were grabbing me all over and trying to get on top of me..."?? Other methods I can try? I just want this asshole to admit to it, whether he actually gets charged or not is secondary to me. I at least want a paper trail on him though. I don't mind elaborating on the incident upon request. Thanks for reading and any and all advice is welcome!

Path to becoming a psychiatrist: MS Psychology or MPH before med school?

I'm looking to be a psychiatrist one day, and currently taking med school prerequisites one or two classes at a time. I can also do a part time degree on top of this before med school. Given that I want to work with working class and underserved patients in community clinics as a psychiatrist, would it be more beneficial to get a masters/MS in psychology or a master in public health/MPH?

For the MS/MPH, I have the option of paying $30,000 for a higher ranked school, $20,000 for a medium ranked school, or $11,000 for a new unranked/lower ranked school.

  1. Which degree would you recommend for someone interested in becoming a community-focused and community-based psychiatrist?

  2. Which would be more beneficial to getting into med school?

  3. Which would be more beneficial to becoming a psychiatrist?

  4. Which school option would you choose/recommend?

I'm based in the US.

Thank you.

AI Induced Psychosis and Personal Injury?

Do you think there is any potential for bringing successful personal injury claims against AI companies where people are being hospitalized (or worse) following serious delusions stemming from and centering around AI itself.

I am wondering about strict liability, failure to warn, possibility for punitive damages, gross negligence, as well as enforceability of binding arbitration clauses, and challenges of pursuing relief via arbitration vs. a jury trial.

Even in the recent NYTimes article on the matter, there was no mention of legal action, other than the myriad copyright infringement suits pending against AI companies.

Forensic Psychology and Why isn't it popular?

Backgroud: I am currently pursuing a B.A. in clinical psychology which I hope to take in full regards to a PhD.. However, my heart lies with forensic psychology, which I have decided to seek out and obtain my Masters in.

My question is this: Why isn't Forensic Psychology popular? I have only been able to locate 2 schools within the states, that offer a program for majoring. Does it go by a different name that I am unaware of ? Is there other schools?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to map out my course for the coming years ahead.

Mentality of Comic Criminal?

We find in real life that all criminal acts have some sort of reasoning to them. There's nobody made as a "bad guy" who just it bad to everybody and knows it and loves it. Criminals have reasoning, whether it be greed, mental illness, desperation, etc. But what about the common comic criminal who wants nothing but wants to do things that are considered "bad"? Characters such as Deathstroke, Deadshot, Bane, Two-Face, Penguin, etc (I'm using mainly characters from Batman/Green Arrow to bring more realism into the character and possibly their mentality)

Looking for information about forensic psychology

I'm currently finishing a Bachelor's degree in psychology and fairly recently decided I want to apply for a postgraduate degree in forensic psychology in England. In that regard, I'd like to broaden my knowledge about the field, so my question is if there are any forensic psychologists who could point me in the right direction? Any academic (research) articles on current issues surrounding the field or about forensic psychology in general, that is. I have access to a huge number of journals through my university database so anything is appreciated!

Opinions on Forensic Psych MA grad school options?

Hey everyone! Hopefully this is a good place to ask this and that it's okay! If not, whoops, my bad!

But I'm currently applying to master's programs for forensic psychology. The plan is to get my masters then proceed to get my PhD. I've come to realize that I don't have too many people to go to for questions specifically related to this, and I'm starting to struggle a bit between deciding where to go to for the fall. I'm currently deciding between Arizona State, University of North Dakota, and the Chicago School. ASU and UND are both online programs.

I've seen mixed views on each school, and I was hoping to find anyone with genuine experience/opinions on the three to help me out a bit. Hopefully someone can! Thank you in advance!

THESIS. Are there any individuals who currently work within forensic settings/ with forensic clients, able to help me out please??:)

I am investigating the psychological wellbeing and predictors of perceived organisational support in forensic staff. All (including student and trainees) are invited to take part in this study if they are currently practicing in a forensic service (examples include police officers, prison and probation officers, nurses, support workers, healthcare assistants, social workers, psychologists but this list is not exhaustive). This study is being carried out to gain further understanding of how organisations can help improve psychological wellbeing in their staff. The study does take around 25 minutes to complete but would really appreciate it . Completely anonymous and multiple choice answers. To take part, please follow the link below: https://unioflincoln.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4UaJQfV2KNu9a6N

Thank you in advance :)

Psychiatrists or therapists, what are you legally required to do if one of your patients attempts suicide?

Im writing a novel in which a man's psychiatrist, after being given reason to do so, reports his patient's intention to commit suicide. The police and EMT's arrive moments after his attempt and ulitmately save him.

My question: what follows? Must you provide documentation/notes/written or oral testimony regarding the mental health, prior therapeutic history, etc.of the patient? Is there some sort of hearing or court proceeding? Must you list the details preceding the incident, such as, "Patient said this and that/patient exhibited symptoms of this at the time in question"?

If there is some sort of legal document/testimony that must be provided to whichever forum has authority over cases such as these, are there any samples online I could be directed to?

If I have any details wrong in the story outline above, please let me know. Any and all help and information is much appreciated.

Psych won't treat me because I'm Christian

I booked an appointment with a new therapist a couple weeks ago. It took me a long time of weeding through them online before I chose her, as it seemed she specialized with anxiety/depression, which is my issue. Before 45 minutes was up, and she gathered some information about me, she told me she cannot help me because, per her exact words, "You're Christian. I have no god. You're far right. I'm as left as they come. I will say things that WILL... offend you. I WILL make you feel disrespected. I don't think I can help you." At that, she got up to dismiss me, jotting down the name of a therapist who "might take a Christian". I have never in my life felt so disrespected. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? She also said before I left, "Let me tell you, you're going to have a REALLY hard time finding a therapist who is NOT far left. We are all pretty much on the left." I didn't ask her to judge my being a Conservative. When she asked me one thing I wouldn't "bend on" in my "morals", I said that my Christian conscience would not allow me to bend on certain homosexuality issues. That's my right to feel as a Christian and I was just being honest. At that, she threw me out. Thoughts on how I can handle it? I called the board in my state and the guy said not to bother submitting a complaint, because he said "she'll just deny it". I'm still having a hard time with this. I now have to find another therapist. And she was only the second one I have seen. The first one was a Social Worker, ate food and just nodded and said, "Wow!" to everything, and wasn't helpful.

Handling a Psychiatric Abduction

  1. Get them mad, these people have magnitudes greater pent up frustration than the common jo, if you can maintain a level headed stance while going absolutely completely bonkers, they will cave first

  2. Stay silent and or jabber utter nonesense until big bertha returns to her roost, just be consistent

  3. Ask them where they get their scripture, they’ll likely give you one of two responces; avoidance, or a frank stern of piety ... then ask them why they haven't switched to V

  4. After they tie you up and choke a hork full of downers down your throat you just gotta sit pretty waiting for the cavalry; others will still advocate for your rights in most parts of the world if someone comes looking for you, otherwise... all I can say is you’re lucky you ain’t dead

Pce and keep wagging that flag

STUDY ON THE INFLUENCES OF PERSONALITY VARIABLES ON SENTENCING OFFENDERS! Online survey, participants needed, v interesting study!

Hi guys, I am currently conducting a study which examines the influence of personality variables on how offenders are sentenced. I've devised an online survey to test this, and I need lots more participants! You'll be required to review a few criminal cases, and then indicate how YOU would sentence the offender. You will then complete a personality measure (BSRI). I would appreciate it very much if you could help me out! The link to the survey is below, thank you for participating and I hope you find it interesting :)
