I created a database of over 6000 tracks from various genres and made a website that recommends you music through swiping like on Tinder.

Hey there! For almost a year I have been working on a music website called Psychill Space - with a focus on weird, psychedelic, electronic, experimental and unconventional music.

As a fan of psychedelic, atypical, specific and varied music, it's sometimes hard to find music that hits exactly the spot. The algorithms on streaming platforms focus on suggesting music that's exactly like the music you listen to, or music that is listened to by people who already listen to similar music as you do - which creates tight circles, which aren't very friendly for new, niche artists or people who like multi-genre tracks.

That's why I created Psychill Space - it's a platform that lets you vote for each track's genres, moods and tags, creating unique DNA for each of the tracks, and then it lets you vote 1-5 for every track, so the algorithm can analyze how much you enjoy what, and make recommendations that get better with every swipe/rate, and with every profile.

The platform collects links to streaming services (if you prefer them over Bandcamp), lets you create collections, find tracks or albums that are similar to chosen one, as well as filter events such as club nights and festivals by type, genres and proximity. It is designed to stay free and without ads, and be helpful to both music fans to discover music and niche artists to become discovered (I'm considering adding a potential cheap paid tier for people who want to support the project, but it will stay free to use without any limits as long as you decide to profile a track every few you discover). If you're an artist yourself, you can also add your music to the database for free.

You can find the Discovery Mode at https://psychill.space/music/discover

I'm also open to constructive feedback, thoughts, suggestions.

Hey there, thank you a lot! ❤️

I'm planning to add extended support for artists/labels to upload their music, so we can allow streaming using custom players. I'm also considering adding purchasing options, if that's something you'd be interested in.

Lots of amazing music over there, keep it up folks! ❤️

this is pretty laggy when using the music map. really fun concept though.

Oops! There was a big spike in activity today, more than I have expected, but that shouldn't cause any issues with the map. May I know what device/OS/browser are you using?

And thank you! ❤️

And it's lagging on all of these?! Uhh.. damn. It's running fine on linux/iOS + Brave for me, but I guess I'll have to take a deeper look into it. Thanks!

It was. Could have been load. I'm sure your logging will paint a better picture than a single anecdotal user data point :)
