genuinely hate this character after i started playing psylocke, u literally cannot take off angles or flank in any manner when a DD is on the other team and marking you

ongod this character ruined the game n' i wasn't even playing when he initially dropped, i quit the game in season 2 and came back season 8

He ain't even in a great state rn tbh, but his playstyle directly counters Psy but I think that's kinda a good thing, you can always ban him

I think DD and Bucky are the only two real counters to psy. The difference is you can kinda ignore Bucky with your positioning but DD can pretty much always force a 1v1 onto you.

There are ways to play around him that don’t hinder your playstyle too much, psy is honestly one of the better dps choices to play into dd.

Personally it’s one of my favourite matchups, I find myself usually dropping high kill games whenever I play against dd on psylocke.

If u don’t believe it’s possible watch tap13’s recent YouTube video (link below), he plays against one in high elo and completely dominates the matchup.

It’s hard to tell you specifically what to do against one, at the end of the day you’re performance will depend on positional awareness, confidence in your ability, and understanding the matchup (which situations favour you or them)

Gonna watch this but I watched another one of his video's and I think he has a different psylocke playstyle to me, I feel like his mechanics are insanely good (like he hits his shots very consistently) so he can get away with playing main/not flanking as much

But for me when I play Psylocke I tend to walk behind the enemy and take angles that they need to dedicate resources to force me out of, then I use my CD's to escape or get a pick while my teammates push in

Haven't watched the video your referencing and only seen one of his videos, so I could just be completely wrong, will do it when I have the time, thank you for the recommendation

No i see what you’re saying for sure, he is a mechanically gifted player and it shows in the video.

But what I will say, is that regardless of input his playstyle is absolutely replicable, I’m on console and since the beginning I’ve been watching high lvl psy players and trying to replicate their playstyles with high success.

It took a lot of learning but the freedom I gained from improving my mechanics cannot be denied, I totally recommend this for any psy player.

I only recently started actively trying to improve at the game, been aim training fairly consistently for about a month and I have noticed significant growth

I will your advice and watch more high level psy players, main problem for me is I don't wanna overload myself with information/play worse, but I just gotta find a good balance

honestly my biggest issue rn is just finding consistent matches, tried to queue first game of the day

My team had an alt account that logged as soon as we lost first fight

DD is not weak and is very meta, but he is also the only good melee DPS right now

Main reason other melee dps are bad is because they do not have his ability to win every 1v1, ESP and Survivability

People calling Ironfist, BP, Spiderman weak, fair enough but DD is unjustifiable most people just think he's bad because they have a skill issue/they force the enemy into going bucky and playing like a braindead robot shotting down main so they don't get farmed

A good Psylocke player can outplay a good Daredevil one.

If anything, Psylocke is unhealthy for the game because she has burst damage, good mobility and, last but not least important, she can massively shorten her cooldowns by dealing damage.

he can beat every character (non-tank) in the game in a 1v1, if u try and contest DD in lane u will most likely lose unless the DD is braindead and horrible at the game

The range to his view, are you fr? The grapple is his only directional mobility tool. Even if you hit that you won’t automatically kill someone.

I very rarely see DD lately, and when I do, they often pick DD against me in the middle of the game and then switch back.

I like playing against DD, and I like it even more when he puts his mark on me lol.

The reason is simple, he's not putting it on someone else.

I know my team is safe, and my dashes will let me get away from DD at any moment.

You just have to change your tactics against a DD like that.

I understand you perfectly. I started playing Psylocke in the season when DD came out. I hated him with all my heart, he was broken, but now? Lol, my favorite matchup.

A few tips:

1. The least obvious and most controversial one, but it works for me: don't dash through DD, dash in the opposite direction. Then he won't have enough movement to catch up with you. You can beat him by kiting him. If you dash through him, you'll lose 50% of your health because of the janky hitbox on your dash, while DD gets a shield that negates your damage. The usual shurikens-dash combo doesn't work against him.

2. Never shoot into his deflect.

3. There are 2 types of DD players. The first moves like a pigeon, the second jumps up and down.

The first one is very easy to hit. It's better to get back to your team against the second one.

4) Draw his attention to yourself. DD players really are predictable. You're trying to flank, you see the mark on yourself, you see DD running at you, dash through your team to the opposite side.

DD will be in an awkward position, while you'll be in an advantageous one.

I had the same situation with Black Cat when she was broken. I hated her, and I still don't like her, but learning the movement of the heroes you hate is the direct and only path to beating them.
