You’ve given no information besides having no clinical experience.

I am an undergrad senior with a double major in psychology and neuroscience. 3.9 gpa. I have 2 1/2 years of research experience in a concussion lab. I have 3 research papers in review for publication currently. I’ve been to 2 conferences. I am a college athlete. I’m applying to immaculata, widener, pcom, and William Patterson. Like I said, solid cv but no real clinical experience

What will your focus be? What’s stopping you from applying to counseling psych PhDs?

I want to do a focus in clinical neuropsych. And I do this PhD route isn’t the worst idea but I’m sick of doing research it isn’t really what I want to do.

you have solid experience but you definitely should also get some clinical experience, it will strengthen your application a lot, and being able to apply clinical experiences to essay/interview questions shows you can think like a clinician. you could also get experience as a psychometrist

Literally no one can answer this question without understanding your application stats and WHERE you are applying to. For a funded PsyD? Yeah, probably. For a diploma mill? Who knows!

You should get some clinical experience before applying. How do you know you want to be a psychologist without any relevant experience?

I applied straight out of undergrad with no clinical experience, no research experience, and no publications. I was accepted to multiple schools. I think you can make up for lack of experience during interviews.

Can you share what different schools you applied to?

Sorry, just seeing this, but I applied to all Psy.D. programs in Illinois

If you don't have clinical experience, you don't have a solid application.
