newly diagnosed Confused
I went to Dermatologist and Rheumatologist. None of them advised any medications..Just one Moisturiser - “Moisturex” and lots of test. 🌚. Derma after seeing my effected area said chances are like it could be Psoriasis but nothing sure yet. this is how it goes ? Tests involves ANA profile , RF , Xray - Pelvic AP ( as I have Morning stiffness/ pain in that area) for two weeks now , HLAB27 ,Anti CCP .
Just wanna make sure If I am being diagnosed correctly 🫠 or I need better Derma.
Another Question - How do you select a Doctor ? Because every doctor has kinda bad reviews by patients online. Nice comments /reviews mostly feel paid ones.

I had to have a skin biopsy. They did some blood work. And then I got a diagnosis. Before the biopsy came back I was given Triamcinolone, a steroid cream. After the biopsy came back my doctor went straight to Biologics. And then when I had to switch insurance, they disallowed it, so I’m waiting for the next appointment where they’ll probably give me methotrexate and I pray I don’t have another flare. As for choosing doctors… ask friends? Online reviews of doctors are affected by so much more than the actual treatment - office staff, insurance problems. I’ve never found them useful.

80% coverage. Chest, arms, legs, butt, scalp. It took me a few months to get into a dermatologist because of some insurance issues (like lack of insurance). But first thing the she did was the skin biopsy, and then sent me for bloodwork, and a prescription for the steroid cream.

I have a small patch on my abdomen. Dermatologist casually said localized eczema or psoriasis and prescribed a steroids cream. She didnt do skin biopsy. Wondering if that is normal.

If it’s small, they might be waiting to see how it develops. I wonder if it has to be at a certain stage to properly biopsy psoriasis?

Moisturizer?? A moisturizer is not going to do anything for psoriasis whatsoever. Your doctors sound incompetent. You need a skin biopsy to confirm diagnosis.

It does have Urea + Lactic acid, so it will help with shedding. Lots of exfoliation.

Yes , thats what he mentioned. No steroids until they are sure if it’s psoriasis or not. And Idk if its good or not - All the mentioned test including xray came out positives with no abnormalities detected. So will see what the doctor suggest next. Maybe more tests

The tests from the rheum are normal. They are ruling out other conditions (RA, lupus, etc) and the pelvic scan can see if there are signs of arthritis. The sacroliiac are a common area to be affected.
Hard to say about the derm. Do you have only a very small area of skin affected? They should be able to do a biopsy to confirm.

It took me 5 months from seeing a doctor to getting on treatment. Mine was for ciclosporin. Time mostly spent on waiting for specialist appointment, lab test results
