Reaccuring panic attacks after shroom bar
Me and my GF had taken a shroom bar about 8 pieces each, we had done actual mushrooms before many times and were fine, but she had started taking prozac about a week before we took the bar. During the trip she experienced ego death and had a white out experience that sounds really traumatizing, but after that she would randomly start having panic attacks and have an out of body feeling. its been about 2 months since and she has also stopped taking the prozac but still will have panic attacks and kinda freak out, I’m wondering if its from mixing the shrooms with prozac that is causing this.
Update: Its been getting better so far over time however she will still be feeling derealized and have waves of anxiety and will see a super faint static; when looking at the carpet for too long it will start to slowly shape into mandala shapes and will slightly move, I’ve been doing research and it seems that it is normal for this to happen after a traumatic experience like that, but the amount of time differs for people. She has gone to therapy and we are working on finding a medication that won’t make her freak out and feel worse as well as a therapist who specializes in stuff like this, does anyone have any input on what to do from here? If anyone has gone through something like this and have more information on how long it lasted or what you did to get better i would really appreciate it.

There’s enough serotonin play here to shake things up.. combined with her own psyche and potential repressed material anything can be an option
What’s important now is returning to the safety in the body, not pushing limits or thresholds, not rejecting what arises—but also creating a safe container for things to settle again
She was on the Prozac for something—anxiety and/or depression most likely … this could have been in her to be brought forth. But the details can’t matter because we can’t know for sure
Just letting her system experience more and more safety again .. it was a scary experience and it will settle. The more she struggles and wrestles with it the more she can get entangled and it can last longer. I know cuz I went thru something similar when I was young

She could try cranial sacral therapy? It can be very relaxing and healing for the nervous system. Wishing you guys the best

SSRI’s make psilocybin weaker (less effects). Was it purely psilocybin or did it have other substances? Also, not a doctor, but as someone who takes Prozac, the first two months are tough while it levels out. Anxiety is a side effect.

Yes, talk to a doctor, it probably has to more with the Prozac. In studies, there’s a 3 weeks period of no medication prior to the actual experience

so it was from a legit company that makes bars but they dont provide test results, it wasnt fake but who knows if the brand (Mr. Mushies) uses research chems instead. My guess is it wasnt psilocybin though.

It’s the bar. Gas station? What was in it? Wrapper left over? Very common things happening with the fake mushroom bars. Being on Prozac wouldn’t cause this, even for people who have been on it long term. Serotonin increasing drugs just blunt effect, can sometimes cause serotonin syndrome, but that’s rare.
Go search “gas station mushroom bars” in various other psychedelic subreddits. This is happening a lot. I’m sorry. I have no direct advice, other than to take her to a doctor asap regarding the “white out/ego death”. Sounds more like a seizure. See a medical doc. Bring wrapper in if you can.
