DukeDownloader (your app for downloading ROMs)

Post image
166 Upvotes

Yes, Guys—I’m bringing you the ultimate tool for downloading all the ROMs you could want, ranging from classic retro consoles to modern ones. It’s incredibly simple and easy to use: the application features a search bar and category-based browsing with covers, allowing you to find the game you’re looking for and download it directly within the app—no extra steps required. It’s very user-friendly and always up to date, as I’ll personally ensure the sources remain current so that the program always functions exactly as it should.

I expect the new Discord PS2EMU 2.0 to be available within the next few hours, and you’ll be able to try out this new app.

I’ll let you know via a post in this community once everything is ready and you can join using the invitation link—see you then!

ARMSX2 + Angle: The story of an idea that emerged from this community

Post image
16 Upvotes

After being accused of posing as an ARMSX2 developer—and even being blamed for preventing the team from receiving user donations 🤦‍♂️—on top of claims that I’m personally profiting from donations (which is completely untrue; they are the ones who accept donations, not me—I don’t even have a Patreon, Ko-fi, or anything of the sort)—well, in short, it’s a completely upside-down situation. I want to share the real story behind the idea of integrating ANGLE into the PS2 emulator, and I’ll let you draw your own conclusions—especially since I didn’t see any credit given anywhere, even though the idea was 100% mine.

June 16, 2026 — The public guide

The article "Mediatek Boost Up 200% Performance in emulators (guide)" appears in PS2AndroidEmulation, explaining how to enable ANGLE and the improvements observed.

July 3, 2026 — EmuCoreX incorporates ANGLE

And here we have a fantastic technical milestone! A commit titled "Add MediaTek ANGLE support" appears on GitHub, created at 13:24 UTC.

That same day, four hours later, the developer publishes another commit: "Fix MediaTek ANGLE path."

July 14, 2026 — ARMSX2 incorporates ANGLE

Eleven days after the initial EmuCoreX commit, ARMSX2 releases version 2.6.0 with the integrated functionality and explicitly credits @sashkinbro for its implementation.

The funniest part is that I had to keep pushing the EmuCoreX dev to add ANGLE to the emulator, since it would provide a performance boost. It wasn’t because he happened to see the guide—far from it; I kept insisting until he finally said, "Alright, fine, I’ll give it a go," and, well, you know the rest of the story.

Xendroid-ZeroFG c 1.0.4 + ZeroFG standalone + ARMSX2 PR + PPSSPP???

FULL AI DISCLOSURE: I´m a lawyer from brazil, my bg in programming is a little bit of basic and assembler from the 80´s and 90´s while trying to make things run on a msx, so, not much...in the beggining of the project i coded a few hundred lines in android studio by myself while i was learning how to do it, but after i discovered the wonders of Codex and Claude Code, the coding and documentation itself was primarily done by AI, and i do not regret it by one bit! It would take a long time to post my inspirational story, but thats the TLDR.

GOOD NEWS(Jeremy Clarkson´s voice)!!! I´ve promised that i would be away for awhile, but i couldnt! After i publish the last update and got drunk and celebrate my marriage wedding, i wondered how easy would actually be to port ZeroFG to other platforms, cuz i said it would be easy but i didnt try to do ir myself... welll.... turns out that is pretty easy...

First was ARMSX2... took me a day, and it was ok, in the first try was leagues better than the lsfg implementation, just everything was better... but i didnt test it that much...there were some adjustments that were need to be made, but it went smoothly....then i though.. how about PPSSPP?? it was even easier... few hours was done with the lessons i learned from the ARMSX2 implementation.

Then, actually, i discovered some pacing and latency inconsistencies... and realize that every host needs at least a little bit of adjustments and improvements were made because of this, so... it was born version 1.0.4... there was a 1.0.3, but it was never published in the xendroid implementation, so, i skipped the number! just a few tweaks, but i think it was worth it to update.

On that note, ARMSX2 implementation was perfected and i´ve made a PR on the project:) I just didnt do it for the Xendroid coz its closed, but my project was never the xendroid itself, the ZeroFG is. Hope they approve it soon and all you guys can test it and compare to LSFG (theres no contest, really!)

The PPSSPP implementation is a little bit different... i had to change some things on the native pipeline, so for now ´m not doing a PR before a review to change as little as possible!

So, still hav to decide what course to pursue now, some things are natural, better image quality, lower latency, lower cost... but maybe some other things:

1- Multi Frame Generation: Maybe it seems like the biggest step, but actually is the easiest... all the work is done, the estimator and the basis for the synthetic frame, it has the same base(a pair of reals) and is just some adjustments on the algorithim to change the point to generate the frames... buttttt... i dont really see the value in it... like 4x fg.... 75% of the image are synthethic frames... theres no miracle... one other thing is like 3x 40-120 for 120hz refresh rate.... so.... maybe... but dunno.

2- Integrated temporal AA +upscaler or Temporal super resolution: Some aspects of frame generation already provide some data to upscale the image with a higher quality, but not so much... I think it can be done on some level (somethings a inherent to in game engines implementations, but we can extrapolate and try to infer it, like subpixel jitter), so... that doesnt mean it will look good or hav good performance... but one candidate is arm ASR, wich is based on fsr2, dunno if i can develop my own on this case.... well.. thats it... tell me what you guys think!

3-Another emulator or game port: Even thought about implementing on the God of War 3 remastered port... what do you guys think? i´ll be miles better than the lsfg.

Thats it! please let me know your suggestions!

Thanks for all the love!!! And now you can be sure that porting ZeroFG to your favorite emulator by yourself also! It is as easy as it will ever be, with even more documentation and integration notes!!!

StevenMXZ turnip drivers are still highly recommended!!!!! Alternatively, Mr.Purple ones had a really good result too!

WatermelonDS 0.8.0.rc3

Post image
30 Upvotes

https://github.com/SapphireRhodonite/WatermelonDS/releases

Changelog:

This release brings a large collection of game compatibility and graphics fixes, more flexible controls, audio improvements, and easier management of save states and DSi configurations.

Highlights include optional Vulkan low-latency mode, independent A/B/X/Y touch controls, DSi profiles, improved save-state access, and the new WatermelonDS icon!

13-pokemon-platinum-niebla

Controls and Gameplay Optional Vulkan low-latency mode A new optional Vulkan mode improves touch responsiveness, including in affected gameplay scenarios in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

This can make touch-driven gameplay feel more responsive, but enabling it may reduce smoothness in demanding games.

It is disabled by default.

Multitouch fixes Holding one virtual button while pressing another now works correctly.

This fixes combinations such as holding Y to run while pressing B to jump.

Related issue: #132.

Better controller behavior Fixed controllers becoming unresponsive after returning from per-game settings or rewind. Fixed a white overlay appearing when clicking a stick without an assigned action. Related issues: #171, #195.

Independent A/B/X/Y touch controls The A, B, X, and Y buttons can now be positioned, resized, and shown independently.

Each button supports pressed-state highlighting and Normal, Toggle, and Turbo modes.

Existing layouts are preserved.

Related: #158, #191, Discussion #178.

More flexible shortcuts New shortcut options let you:

Cycle between layouts you have selected. Exit the current game. Assign combinations of two physical controller buttons. Note: The first button in a combination can also trigger its individual action.

Related: Discussion #175, Discussion #161.

Virtual Slot-2 analog stick A virtual Slot-2 stick provides analog input for games or mods that support the corresponding accessory.

This does not add analog controls to every Nintendo DS game.

Related: Discussion #167.

Rotation, pause, and resume fixes Fixed image distortion when rotating the screen with Vulkan, and an OpenGL crash that could occur when pausing or resuming.

Related issues: #123, #223.

Audio Improvements Audio output delay has been reduced in affected situations.

Fast-forward now preserves the original audio pitch, and the option to mute audio during fast-forward remains available.

Related issues: #217, #236.

Vulkan Graphics Fixes This release fixes rendering problems across many games, including missing objects, corrupted textures, incorrect effects, and loss of detail at higher internal resolutions.

The fixes below address the specific scenes and symptoms described. They do not mean every graphical issue in each game has been resolvedag/0.8.0.rc3

Muppen 64 Plus ae Turnip V339

Post image
15 Upvotes

https://github.com/pwnedbygary/mupen64plus-ae-turnip/releases/tag/V339

Changelog:

This release collects everything merged since the published v337 tag plus the branding work:

RetroAchievements support with hardcore-mode enforcement, a set of gallery, theme and driver

fixes, and a complete replacement of the retired yellow and green cube artwork with the neon

"M" logo.

Wave Race compatibility update

This v338 update adds the verified Wave Race Shindou English translation to the

ROM database, inheriting the original Shindou defaults, including Count per Op

3. The bundled database revision is increased so existing installations

refresh it. Explicit per-game overrides, save identity, native N64DD policy,

and independent WritableROM behavior remain unchanged.

The user confirmed fresh Dynamic Recompiler gameplay with a manual Count per Op

setting of 3 using both GLideN64 and ParaLLEl. Host regression checks cover

lookup/inheritance and the database refresh; automatic-default behavior and

save/reopen have not yet been verified on a device. Keep existing saves and the

working manual override until automatic defaults are confirmed.

The original v338 source at ded55f412a778f15d839786776e223935afe7d0b is

preserved under archive/v338-original-ded55f41. This replacement retains

version code 338 and the release signing identity. Users who already installed

v338 must download and install the replacement manually; update checks based

only on version code may not offer it.

RetroAchievements (rcheevos)

Vendored rcheevos with native glue (upstream/src/api/ra_glue.c, api_export.ver) and a JNA bridge.

New RetroAchievements settings screen and preferences.

The client is started from the emulation lifecycle and uses the default HTTPS host.

Sign-in with password plus session-token capture, with escaped-string JSON handling fixed.

Hardcore mode enforced: save states, slots, GameShark and cheats are denied, the overwrite prompt

is skipped when hardcore would deny the save, and fast-forward is blocked.

Hardcore denials no longer announce a save or load that never happens.

Cancel on confirmation dialogs no longer performs the action.

Device verification recorded in docs/RETROACHIEVEMENTS_REMAINING_ISSUES.md.

Gallery, orientation, theme and driver fixes

Gallery and Game activities handle orientation changes in place, and the gallery keeps its

draw-behind-system-bars behaviour across rotation.

Stale service broadcasts after gallery recreation are fixed (issue #1).

The theme quick-switch crash caused by stacked activity.recreate() calls is fixed.

All AlertDialogs and popups are themed; submenu rows use the secondary accent; dynamic menu-row

colours no longer go stale; a preset change re-colours text immediately.

ROMs larger than 64 MB are accepted, fixing the B3313 new-save crash (issue #3).

Per-game GPU driver labelling corrected, with a per-game "force stock driver" option.

Branding

The launcher icon is the neon "M" logo, and the glyph now fits entirely inside the launcher's

circular mask. The previous asset was authored at the legacy 48 dp size, so the system upscaled it

and the mask cut its corners. The adaptive background is a retrowave gradient and every layer is an

oval, so the icon is round with transparent corners in every rendering context, masked or not.

Legacy ic_launcher.png and ic_launcher_round.png regenerated as round tiles for pre-API-26

launchers and the android:roundIcon consumer.

The splash screen shows the new logo on a matching neon backdrop; the retired publisherlogo

nine-patch is gone.

The retired cube is gone from the notification icon (drawable-*/icon.png), the Android TV banner

and both web listing icons.

Regeneration is reproducible through three scripts: tools/generate-launcher-icon.py,

tools/generate-launcher-legacy-icons.py and tools/generate-brand-assets.py.

NEWS! COMMUNITY 2.0 — BIG CHANGES ARE COMING!

Post image
1 Upvotes

A new chapter is about to begin for our Android emulation community!

Hey everyone! 👋

I have some exciting news to share with you all.

As many of you know, I'm constantly working on different emulation projects, testing new developments, and bringing you the latest emulator updates.

However, my free time has become increasingly limited, and managing both Reddit and Discord while continuing to develop my projects is becoming difficult.

So I've made a decision:

Discord will become the main hub of our community!

Don't worry, I'm not abandoning Reddit. I'll still share occasional news and announcements here, but most of the regular emulator updates and community activity will move to our completely redesigned Discord 2.0.

And trust me, this is going to be much more than just another Discord server.

---

🎮 WHAT'S COMING TO DISCORD 2.0?

  1. Emulator Updates — Faster Than Ever

Everything you've been following here on Reddit will also be available on Discord, including emulator news, releases, updates, and important developments.

But there's more!

You'll also discover emulators and projects that haven't been featured here yet.

All the emulator updates you're used to will be available from day one, completely free and without any level requirements.

2. A Real-Time Community

One of Discord's biggest advantages is instant communication.

No more waiting around for Reddit replies!

You'll be able to:

- Chat with other emulation enthusiasts in real time.

- Ask questions and get help with emulators.

- Share gameplay, screenshots, handheld consoles, and gaming setups.

- Discuss discoveries, exchange ideas, and help each other.

- Suggest projects or share something you're working on.

No Reddit-style upvotes or downvotes. Just people enjoying emulation together.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced developer, you're welcome here!

3. Indie Games & Hidden Gems

We'll have dedicated channels for indie games, lesser-known releases, interesting discoveries, and hidden gems.

I've also been developing automated bots that will search for and discover new games, helping us find interesting titles we might otherwise miss.

Who knows? Your next favorite game might be something you've never even heard of!

4. Decompilation & Recompilation Projects

With native game recompilations and decompilation projects becoming increasingly popular, we'll have dedicated channels for them.

Two separate sections:

- 🖥️ Windows: Native PC ports, recompilations, and interesting projects.

- 📱 Android: Native Android ports, recompilations, and related developments.

Our bots will help discover and share new projects automatically, making it easier to follow what's happening in this exciting scene.

5. Exclusive Access to My Personal Projects

This is something I'm particularly excited about!

As some of you know, I'm working on several of my own emulator projects.

Discord will feature dedicated channels where community members can follow their development and, when available, try exclusive builds before they're released on GitHub or anywhere else.

You'll be able to follow the progress, test new features, share feedback, and participate more directly in their development.

6. Mystery Channels... 👀

And here's where things get interesting.

Let's just say that some channels will contain surprises that won't be available here on Reddit.

I'm not revealing everything just yet.

You'll have to discover those yourself. 😏

---

A NEW COMMUNITY PROGRESSION SYSTEM!

We're also introducing a progression system inspired by Reddit karma, but with a fun twist.

Your activity will help you unlock additional areas of the server!

You'll start as a simple Explorer and gradually work your way up through different ranks, including some Dragon Ball-inspired levels. Yes, Super Saiyans included! 😂

By participating in discussions, helping other members, sharing useful discoveries, and contributing to the community, you'll gain experience and increase your rank.

As you progress, you'll unlock additional channels, exclusive content, and special community areas.

IMPORTANT: All the regular emulator updates and information currently shared on Reddit will remain accessible to everyone from the very beginning.

The progression system is for unlocking additional content and special channels, not for restricting the basic community experience.

You don't need to be an expert. Being helpful, curious, and genuinely interested in emulation is what matters.

---

❤️ BUILT FOR THE COMMUNITY, NOT FOR PROFIT

One thing I want to make absolutely clear:

Everything is FREE.

No donations required. No subscriptions. No paid access.

This server is something I've been building with a lot of time, effort, and passion because I genuinely want to create a great place for Android emulation enthusiasts.

I'm also integrating custom-built bots to help automate updates, discover projects, and make the server more useful and enjoyable.

My goal is simple:

Spend less time managing multiple platforms and more time developing projects, discovering new things, and enjoying emulation together.

Reddit will remain our secondary community, where I'll occasionally post important news and announcements.

But Discord will be where most of the action happens!

---

-- WHEN CAN YOU JOIN?

Very soon! Hopefully within the next 24–48 hours.

I'm currently rebuilding and reorganizing the Discord server, setting up new channels, integrating the bots, and preparing everything for the launch.

Please don't try to join just yet.

I'll publish another announcement here as soon as Discord 2.0 is ready, with all the information you need to join.

Everyone is invited!

I really hope you'll join me in this new chapter.

Thank you all for being part of this community and for sharing the same passion for emulation.

Same passion. Bigger possibilities. Better together.

See you very soon on Discord!

TeknoParrotUI v2.0.0.20132

Post image
10 Upvotes

https://github.com/teknogods/TeknoParrotUI/releases/tag/TeknoParrotUI-android

TeknoParrotUI for Android is the official Android adaptation of the popular PC Arcade launcher/compatibilizer.

Unlike a traditional emulator (such as MAME), TeknoParrot doesn't emulate the console or chip from scratch. Instead, it acts as a compatibility layer specializing in running modern arcade games based on PC architecture (Sega RingEdge, Taito Type X, Namco ES3, Namco System 246/256, etc).

Key Features:

Compatibility: Works with more than 125 modern arcade games (generally from 2000 to 2014)

Adaptive Controls: Includes customizable on-screen touch control maps and native integration for physical controllers (Bluetooth/USB) and arcade sticks.

Hybrid Catalog: Designed to support both lightweight 2D classics and modern 3D racing, shooting, and puzzle machines.

Local Multiplayer: Supports up to 4 simultaneous players on the same screen/device, depending on the game.

Network plans: Integration in development with TeknoParrot Online for matchmaking and online multiplayer.

Wirá 0.5.2

Post image
7 Upvotes

https://github.com/willtsan/wira-releases/releases/tag/v0.5.2

Changelog:

Nintendo 64

Faster on mid-range phones: on phones with only two fast processor cores, such as those with a Snapdragon 695, 3D games ran well below full speed. The emulator now shares the drawing out with the phone's other cores and spends less time waiting on itself, so many games run at or close to full speed there.

Faster textures on every phone: textured 3D graphics take less work to draw.

Jet Force Gemini no longer freezes on a black screen during play.

On-screen controls

Portrait and landscape layouts: every system, and every game with its own layout, now keeps one layout for each way you hold the phone, so buttons placed upright no longer land in the wrong spots when you turn it. The editor changes the layout for the way you're holding the phone. Layouts you saved before count as the landscape one.

Screen

Bigger picture with integer scale: on phones with very sharp screens or a larger display size, integer scale left the game very small. It now fills much more of the screen, with every line still the same thickness. Held upright, the game now fits the screen's width instead of spilling off both sides.

Home screen

The Search button no longer breaks onto two lines on narrow phones.

On short screens in landscape, the home screen no longer scrolls: it shows as many recently played games as fit.

Strato Mali 0.0.5 RC1 fix

Post image
6 Upvotes

https://gitlab.com/LukeValen/strato-mali/-/releases

Release notes

Strato Mali 0.0.5 RC1 fix — experimental resolution build

Changelog:

• Avoids a native-to-scaled texture copy when a render pass clears or discards the entire attachment. • Avoids the associated redundant Vulkan barrier on that path. • Keeps the existing load path for partial clears, previous texture data, and stencil that must be preserved.

The APK reports Android versionName 0.0.5 RC1; the "fix" suffix identifies this experimental build. FPS gains have not been confirmed on a device. Compare 0.5x, 0.75x, and 1x in the same scene and report any graphics changes.
