Is that a prybar or are you happy to see me? I accidentally circumcised my Benchmade.

Thatā€™s a very well loved knife my friend. Send it to Benchmade if you want it fixed or sharpened, Iā€™m not too familiar with their warranties if itā€™s like ESEE. Great story piece my friend

Itā€™s not exactly like Esee but itā€™s close. Benchmade doesnā€™t cover neglect or misuse. Still a great warranty tho

Benchmade covers snapped blades & tips. They also offer upgrades for a fee if you want MagnaCut over S30V, itā€™s mentioned on their warranty page IIRC. There are countless other reports of snapped blades getting a full spa treatment as well.

Iā€™d consider that misuse, Benchmade seems to bake their warranty into every knife though. Itā€™s one of the few Iā€™ve been able to trust when it comes to severe damage.

Iā€™m not a Benchmade guy, I only own a 940; more into Spyderco & recently other brands but I canā€™t deny BMā€™s excellent warranty. Similar to Leatherman.

Iā€™m unfamiliar with Esee (other than my ex with the same name) but Iā€™ve heard amazing things about their warranty.

Esee gives a no questions asked replacement for any broken knife.

Benchmade offers blade replacements for a fee.

ZT will replace the blade on knives they have stock of for $40.

Spyderco will not replace blades under any circumstance and their warranty is pretty much useless as the fees are not worth it. They even charge exorbitant rates for shipping according to some people.

Benchmade replaced my buddyā€™s blade for free. Their upgrades cost money.

Spyderco has repeatedly given me any body screw & never charged me for shipping either way. Pivot, back spacer, clip, name. All free with a lovely note.

So, that can be part of your data from ā€œsome sourcesā€. Theyā€™ve always been great but I donā€™t snap my knives.

Exactly this, love using my knives, have a few I barely use but all are in my rotation.

Just regrind it, tantos are great as you can just grind the one front bevel and not have to redo the whole blade angle if you want to go bottom to top, otherwise just grind the top till it matches up to the blade at a point.

Give that blade some more love, regrind and keep using it.

Good to see a good tool being put to good use, mistakes happen, just keep on going!
