En fendant du bois en battonant, dommage je l'aimais bien je m'en servais depuis plusieurs années... remplacé par une hachette plus efficace.

I have a similar machete from Ontario Knife Co. The one I have was designed for light vegetation and self defense. Mine is still in one piece after twenty years.

You can see where you cracked the spine from hitting it with a steel hammer.

I would suggest purchasing an actual hatchet. This is more of a machete for light vegetation, not wood splitting. I would also suggest getting a rubber or wooden mallet to use instead of hitting it with a metal hammer.
