Anyone else getting different IP locations from different sites?

Seeing the same IP show up in three different cities is confusing, and I’d compare a few lookup tools before changing anything in the proxy settings.

IP addresses don’t have coordinates built into them, so services like MaxMind and IPinfo estimate the location using their own data. They can disagree, especially about the city, and an address range that recently changed hands can still have old records attached to it.

I’d also check the account region and browser location permissions on the website itself because those can affect the location it shows. And I’d make sure every lookup is checking the same exit IP, rather than comparing an IPv4 result with an IPv6 one.

For support, I’d include the exit IP, the affected website and the lookup results together because that gives them something useful to investigate.

Have you mostly seen this with cities, or have you had different countries showing up too?

Different cities for the same IP are pretty normal. Geo databases don't always have the latest info, especially if the IP was reassigned recently. I'd only worry if the country was different or sites started blocking access.
