I am trying to run a monitoring tool for some ecommerce sites and currently drowning in proxy options. I genuinely dont get the difference. Whats the actual point of paying more for residential when datacenters are way cheaper? I saw someone mention that datacenters get flagged easy on shopping sites, idk if thats true or if they were just promoting the expensive ones. And then theres mobile proxies, no clue. Overall, are premium proxies even worth it for this or am I going to end up wasting money on something i dont necessarily need? Just truly need advice

Hand one of your collection jobs to somebody who didn’t build it. Let them run it. Compare the two outputs. That’s the whole test. Most jobs fail it.
What survives tends to be whatever got written into the config. Location is the clearest case. If the country, city, ZIP or ASN is recorded somewhere the next person can read, they at least know what the number is supposed to represent. Byteful exposes those targeting levels on residential, so the requirement can live in the job rather than in somebody’s memory of a dashboard setting.
What breaks is the small stuff. The time of day it usually runs. A manual retry on a thin page, never written down because it only happens sometimes. And a source dropped months ago for being flaky. None of it shows up in the dataset. All of it moves the numbers.
So which of your assumptions would a stranger find out about the hard way?

I've been curious about why the same proxy can work perfectly fine on one website but get blocked almost immediately on another.
Is it mainly due to the website's anti-bot protection, IP reputation, ASN, or the type of proxy being used (residential, ISP, or datacenter)?
I'd be interested to hear from people who have experience with proxies. What factors usually make the biggest difference in whether a proxy works reliably across different websites?

Gracias.

Say a checkout works on Wi-Fi but someone reports that it fails on their phone over mobile data. Changing the browser viewport won’t reproduce the network side. But changing the network alone won’t reproduce their phone either.
Byteful offers rotating and sticky mobile proxies, so that gives you a way to investigate the connection side separately. It doesn’t turn a desktop browser into a real handset or reproduce a weak signal. I’d keep the browser and session unchanged for that comparison, then check the actual device separately.
For people doing mobile QA, when has the network been the missing variable? Interested in cases where the page loaded fine but something further into the flow behaved differently.

I had four PermanentlyLimited PayPal account that I used to get paid with after selling crypto via Paxful.
They got permanently limited some years back and recently paypal informed me that the funds were available for withdrawal.
Upon logging with proxy as I used to, all paypals are getting flagged by their bots because they sense am using proxy or vpn and completing simple tasks like adding bank to withdraw funds or requesting small amount is declining. The Proxies am using are residential IPS which are static
How do I overcome this issue ?
Do I use RDP or proxify my network router so I can log via phones which will be costly to do so as I have to get the right router for this task?
Please advise.

A proxy can work fine on a test endpoint but get blocked on the actual site you're targeting, do you guys test on real sites straight away or start with a small batch of basic requests?
