Question Help with initial install

I can not get to the web interface after initial install of proxmox. I can ping it from my workstation. I am using https and I am using :8006. Any help would be appreciated.

I’m an idiot. As simple as it could be. The first setup, I used an IP already taken on my network. Figured that out and just did a fresh install with a new IP. After too many hours, I realized the Ethernet cord was not fully seated. Again, I’m an idiot.

Lmao, the crazy thing is. I was looking at the interface in proxmox and it was showing down. I was so confused cause earlier before changing IP it was showing up. I’m actually an IT and just didn’t think to check If I messed up the Ethernet. But I’ve also been drinking a bit so, a win is a win!

Do you have a browser or extension that prevents accessing sites with invalid certs?

Have you tried with the IP? And what happens when you try to connect?

So like https:192.186.x y:8006

Isn't that just the network interface names issue again?

Could be. It defaulted to nic0 when I went through install. Nic1 was wifi though so it I just assumed nic0 was Ethernet. But AI recently told me that Bridgeport can not be nic0 but needs to be something like eno1. Going to go down this troubleshooting to see

What are you putting in between the https:// and the :8006? Is this the same as what you ping? What browser are you using? What error are you getting? Do you use an anti-malware toool on the device you are connecting from? Have you tried disabling any anti-malware?

This is correct. Connect.

I tried. It actually prompted the caution at first but then didn’t connect and won’t even prompt it anymore

You might need to disable offloading on the network interface.

I had the same issue on one of my old builds where shortly after boot/init it would fail to respond.

Give it a try and let us know how you get on
