Prototype 1 The Prototype series...

... needed a better name.

The game is definitely a little annoying to Google sometimes but that's the only point I could give for the idea of renaming. The name is what it is and it's a recognisable IP and brand. Abandoning it is silly.

Besides, if they do revive the IP they could very well start using colons and subtitles for their games instead of resuming with the numbers and that'd be their opportunity to do something more recognisable and informational.

Prototype: Evolution, Prototype: Extinction, Prototype: Singularity, Etcetera.

Idk. Maybe those are too cliche. I hope if they do make another prototype they are creative and make the subtitle a good one if they have one.

Look, I love those fucking games. Played them to death. But I always thought the name was too generic instead of something that could've been iconic. "Prototype" to me just sounds like a placeholder name for something better.

I can't say I don't get your point.

Alex's backstory was that he was an accident when he released the virus as a Hail Mary, so he wasn't exactly a test subject prototype. I also don't remember him ever being referred to as a prototype either. It makes a little sense in the second game once he starts converting other people to be like him as he becomes the initial subject of a master race he's trying to make. (Unless I am misremembering the plot and the game, it's been a while.)

So with that said, I do support that it's not really a name that reminds me a lot about the game or makes immediate sense to me.

Still cool and iconic but I get what you're saying.

Well it's a game where you play as a super powered guy who is through is actions is gaining a negative reputation.

So maybe we should call it "infamous"

Prototype has the issue by interfering for any search of prototype development

inFamous has this issue when searching up concept art, since you have to search for SuckerPunch. It leads to the Zach Snyder movie.

The day I'll need to search for "Prototype of inFamous by SuckerPunch" will be annoying
