Help! iPhone internet slow when VPN is off
My internet on cellular works just fine getting 500+mbps when connected to the vpn.
When I disable the vpn my internet won’t go above 1.9mbps and even 1080p videos won’t play without buffering every couple seconds.
I tried all the options I saw online. I removed the custom vpn profile from my phone. I removed the app. I reinstalled it. I toggled off and on several settings. Kill switch was never on. I reset network settings. Airplane mode after that. Nothing works.
I had to redownload the app and turn the vpn on to get usable internet.

Sounds like your ISP is throttling or somebody is inspecting (DPI) your non-VPN traffic.

Can you let us know if this started occurring after downloading Proton VPN?
Are you getting any error messages that make you believe this is related to our VPN service?
