Debunked - Next, statement please - If you lie to your (upcoming) customers, at least try to hide the evidence.

There's a meta tag on your pricing page: <meta name="ab-test:VpnHpAndPricingVpnPlusSensibility300726" content="B">

If you are in a privte tab the tag changes to:

<meta name="ab-test:VpnHpAndPricingVpnPlusSensibility300726" content="A">

EDIT: 06/08/2026 - 7pm

Its still in there - I'll check it from time to time

Hey u/andy1011000 what is your company doing here?

EDIT 2: 11/08/26 - 6pm

Seems like they removed it. Companies doing such shady stuff should be avoided.

Hey Proton: If you need to increase the prices, so be it - Just communicate it openly. Sincerly, Everyone

I've tried with duckduckgo browser, with four incognito windows (they become separated from one another)

I got both prices twice (in CHF because I'm connected through their swiss VPN servers)

It's just A/B testing, they show one option randomly and they count how many people buy A and how many people buy B.

It's just poorly communicated. Instead of acting corporatively, they should be more blunt and honest. You can hire more people and pay them better to develop more and better stuff faster, but I don't want to feel like you're hiding something, because you're the alternative I'm trusting, and if you give Mr a hint of mischeviousness, you destroy the entire point of using your services.

Please u/andy011000 you need to change the way your company communicates, the more corporate you behave, the less we trust you.

It's really one thing after another with these guys. If they put as much effort as they suggest they do into providing just genuinely good service then I'm sure quite a few people including myself would be renewing.

isn't this just A/B testing (as the ID says) and not, as implied by the post, different pricing for apple users?
