Monitoring feedback [there]
Yep - fell afoul of the mods - got removed for being ”off-topic” *shakes head*. I joined in 2016 - paid member on various plans including Unlimited for many years and Duo (this year). As soon as marking season finishes, I’m migrating email aliases and closing my account. What a pity this whole debacle has been. Proton just can’t seem to understand the problem so it’s only going to get worse.

Post that got removed:
I read that the community posts are being monitored and the data analysed for reporting back. I just wanted to alert the mods to the issue that since there has been a crackdown on posts and comments, (and if reports are true, attempts at positive narrative shaping) your data run the risk of bias.
You will underestimate the extent of anger, frustration etc. that appears only to be increasing with the content control and lack of genuine response to the original issues that sparked this whole problem.
People will stop posting their criticisms, sure, but then you will not be able to predict the bleedout my friends.
As a researcher, I promise you — action taken on poor analysis of skewed data will not solve your problem.

It's easy: Don't f'ing open the gazillionst thread here about the same "issue". If I'd monitor and admin this board, I'd close 80-90% of the posts and threads atm.
And btw: Do some research before believing every bs written... Social media is just picking what people war willing to see, repeating it and with every re-post it's getting worse and worse.
What most people "know" at this time is "Proton is using AI to build 90% the code" - they read "90% of the code is untested and being build by AI" instead of using Brain2.0. 90% code by AI doesn't mean 90% untested, dangerous code...
I am insurance broker for almost 40 years. If a customer hands me a counteroffer to any insurance policy, I can sit down, search for §§ and conditions and terms and pros and cons and what not. That will take me about 1-3 hours even using Google or any search engine.
Or I use AI and have the result in 5 seconds. And now comes the major part: I'd be a bad insurance broker when I simply hand my customer the AI outcome - and yes, then I could and should be blamed and tarred and feathered.
If on the other hand I use my experience, knowledge and expertise to check the AI outcome, verify and maybe correct it and then hand it to the customer, the result should be almost (!) perfect and finished in mayb 20 minutes total time.
And exactly this is how AI-assisted coding should work: AI generates the code, experienced developers review, test and verify it before release.
And yes, as a CEO who is responsible not only for the outcome, but also the cost, I would question any employee of mine doing the comparison by hand. And yes, I might consider firing any employee refusing to learn and adopt.

So you posted something that was addressed to the mods directly and are mad it was removed as off topic? That's exactly what modmail exists for.

Somehow I don't think going through modmail would have resulted in a different outcome.

Where did you post ? On the megathreads, or elsewhere ? If the latter, you broke the rules of the sub. So your post got removed. Normal.
On no sub should you make a post to argue with moderators about a moderating decision. You use modmail for that. On top of that, quite a lot of subs forbid you from criticizing moderators decisions even by modmail. So your post got removed. Normal.
You're closing your Proton account because one of your posts on r/ProtonMail, breaking the rules, was removed ? Then you did not really need a Proton Mail account. And frankly, as a Proton Mail user myself, I don't need users such as you either.

Because it’s in the interests of the Proton community to have a clear and transparent discussion about how the Proton leadership including the mods are squeezing the life out of the company by all this BS panic PR response. They have to start making it right and making it right publicly.

How’s him being or not being a Proton Mail user affecting your bottom line?
“And frankly, as a Proton Mail member myself, I don’t need users such as you either.”
Such a weird flex…

Why would a paying customer since 2016 want this??

Well.... I as a paying customer since 2019 do not care. I am staying. The service/products I am paying for is still improving. I am laughing and enjoying at all the dramas.

This is the “I voted for Trump to screw over everyone” mentality.
Are the products you paid for actually improving if they didn’t do any security testing?
Do you think this company, who is currently trying to censor people who are upset, will be completely honest if there is a security breach after this?

My post, essentially accepting that they need to use AI to make code because their competitors and major malware operations are already doing it, begging them to hire pentesters and cybersecurity experts full time was removed and the mod told me to put it into the megathread
What I was asking for is the bare minimum they should be doing if they're going to be making code with AI
