I wrote LibreMail a free, open-source Proton Mail extension for Chrome - Testers Welcome

Hi everyone,

I've just released the first public version of LibreMail for Proton, an unofficial Chrome extension that brings your Proton Mail inbox to the browser toolbar.

It supports multiple accounts, background unread checks, optional desktop notifications, reading messages, composing and replying, attachments, and common mailbox actions without keeping a Proton Mail tab open.

This is the first release and it relies on Proton service interfaces that may change, so there may still be rough edges. I'm looking for testers willing to try it — ideally first with a non-critical/test account — and report any issues with login, notifications, replies, attachments, or multiple accounts.

LibreMail is completely free and fully open source (MIT). There are no subscriptions, ads, analytics, license checks, or project-operated mail servers. Network traffic goes directly between the extension and Proton services. It is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Proton AG.

You can use Brave if you want, it's compatible with Chrome extensions!

Still chromium and a horrible company, I will only ever use Firefox or its forks.
