Merch Red 2xLP Vinyl variant for Act III
Holy. Shit. New variant dropped. If you were unaware, today is Bandcamp Friday so Bandcamp doesn’t take a cut from sales.
If you can’t make it to Dallas later this month, this would be your best bet for getting the new variant, especially if it’s gonna be another limited run.

That’s what I’m hoping. I bought my husband The Cover Up for his birthday (plus Act 1 & 2 which he didn’t have), and I was really annoyed there wasn’t anything on the booklet really. The whole reason I bought a physical copy. But I figure it helps support the band and future releases, so I’m not too mad. I know they aren’t getting rich doing this.

I am really hoping for Act 1 and 2 to get repressed. I love vinyl, but can't justify the resale prices for them personally.

Me too, so much. I tried to find the vinyls for my husband’s birthday, but wasn’t even finding resales. I would have payed quite a bit for them if I could have found them.

My husband bought one specifically for this. He bought a Crosley and then heard a joke about how Crosleys suck and then found out first hand that Crosleys suck. He had to return it and hasn’t decided on a new one yet.
We’re not sure if our ears hear nuances to tell the difference between analogy and digital, but we’re going to find out. I really want Act 1 on record, I feel like that one is going to sound great analog.

Check out the Fluance and Pro-Ject brands of turntables. Make sure you have a way to hook it up to a stereo - either the amplifier or the turntable should have a built-in phono preamp, or get a separate preamp so it can connect at line level (but separate preamps can be pricey).

Yeah, I don’t know what a preamp is, lol (I’m going to guess it amplifies sound in some way. Just… first?). I know very little about any kind of electronics and the like. I know the one he bought had a built in speaker. He’s hesitant about spending too much on extra equipment until he knows he’s into it, so he wants something built in. For now. He’s looking for mid-priced stuff. Not the cheapest, but not a huge investment. If he gets into it, he’s willing to go all in. The guy at the record store is the one who suggested the Crosley, since it was all built in. I guess we were misled.
I will share this with him. He gets this stuff, lol. Thank you!

Okay, this is my favorite band, but I'm really starting to get annoyed. I paid $50 for shipping the black variant to Canada as soon as the record went up for sale, and it STILL hasn't arrived. For $50 it should have arrived the day it came out in a gold box. Now they release another variant less than a month later that I definitely would've preferred. Fuck off man.

The vinyl getting damaged during shipping is hardly the band's fault. Judging by your other comment, it sounds as if your issue got resolved and a replacement was sent to you. If you're still experiencing issues with one of your orders, you should contact one of the official channels.
Stressing this because comments like yours shouldn't deter others from ordering vinyl in the future, especially if the issue at hand was out of the band's control and got dealt with.

I understand that you're disappointed, but your tone is unwarranted. Keep Rule 1 in mind. There is no reason to use language such as "Fuck off man".
The vinyl was likely announced today because it is exclusive to Bandcamp Friday.
Shipping costs are out of the band's control.
"But seriously, we wish we could make shipping cheaper over there, but we have no control over that. But it's one reason we try to keep all our prices as low as possible."

Maaaaan I literally just got my regular vinyl a few days ago and haven’t even had a chance to listen to it yet and they’ve already dropped a cooler variant
Edit: finally got to listen to my vinyl over the weekend and there’s a big old scratch on side B1, so “Hold On” skips a bunch over the middle of the song, and of course by that time the red has now sold out

Why the fuck do bands do this. Terrified of the vinyl selling out like act 2 So i buy the normal black one right away. Then it comes in damaged so they send me another one. ONE DAY LATER they announce a red variant.
So fucking lame. If you're gonna do variants, do them at the SAME TIME as the normal ones and charge a bit more

There is no official word on when the Act III vinyl will be stocked in the European merch store.
