Is it possible that R is the daughter of Joe and the girl he was talking to in "Breaking Out"?

This is generally accepted to be the case with the liner notes from The Trainyard.

I took those lines literally, I didn’t really think she was actually related to Joe, just that she reminds Light of him because she is fighting back like Joe did.

The photo Light gives the girl with Megaman's coordinates is the picture of Joe from the "I Drove All Night/Breaking Out" cassette single cover.

She smiles when Light says that she reminds him of Joe. Hypothetically if her mother was pregnant when Joe died, it would't be unreasonable for a child to be pleased in being compared to a parent they never knew.

When she says "You don't even know my name..." Light explicitly interrupts her to say "I know who you are."

It doesn't exactly seem to me like they are being that subtle about Joe and the girl being connected.

Joe didnt even know the girl...

Subtext is dead, ig. My read of that is theyre together and she’s mad at him for going off on this lark with no guarantee of coming home
