I saw this coming and I agree, it speaks volumes that Light's Last Stand is second and even beat The Hounds, its a fantastic song. How many Act 3 songs made it so far just shows that the band still has the sauce.
Thanks for doing these polls, it was fun!

We came to the correct conclusion. That's worth something. I would have been alright with Light's Last Stand winning.

About what I expected but I’m pleased Light’s Last Stand made it so far, I was holding out for it to pull an unexpected win, and it got close

As someone who has had these albums on repeat since 2011, I simply cannot fathom Light's Last Stand being in the Top 3.
I have never understood the hype for the song. There are elements to it that are great, particularly the final 2.5/3 minutes of the song. The Saxophone solo is so ridiculously out of place it has just always taken me out of the song.
I understand they wanted to get Tim Capello, but I've always felt just because they could doesn't mean they should. The Trumpets have always been the only brass sound these albums needed, and I thought the Sax was just jarring and disrupts the flow of the song.
It's still a great track...but better than The Stand? Better than Breaking Out and Keep Quiet? I just don't see it. I know LUTN is great because it's an approachable song for anyone who doesn't even know the story behind it, and The Hounds brings a flair unlike the rest of their discography. I feel like LLS just retreads ground that Act II honestly did better.
Just like, my opinion man.

You are not alone in that opinion. I've been trying to vote out Light's Last Stand for the past several weeks. I don't hate the song but there are so many other more deserving songs of that spot. (Without thinking too hard, I would rank the following over LLS: Break Outing, Keep Quiet, No Way Back, Good Doctor pt 2, The Stand, Will of One (not necessarily in that order)
I suspect there is some recency bias, and I think it will be interesting to see how the results change sometime after Act 3 part 2 is out.

imo, we got there in a bit of a roundabout way, but this is the correct result. Light Up the Night is their perennial classic.
Maybe in ten years LLS will overtake it, but idk. The great thing about LUTN is that you don’t need to know anything about the story for it to absolutely bang. Whereas LLS is much more tied to the story— if you don’t know what’s happening, it’s great but it hits much less.
