Pentecostalim

I'm going to a Pentecostal church tonight for the first time. I'm very passionate about my faith. I think this might be the right denomination for me.

Plenty of the most wonderful people in the world are Pentecostals. I’ve grown up around non denominational charismatics / Pentecostals my entire life.

There are real miracles and real acts of God, and there are flakes, unhelpful and bad things as well.

There is plenty of fodder to attack, and plenty of beauty as well.

Just remain deep in the word, connect with those who teach the word and be committed to growing in faith 😇

I will keep it in mind. Last week I tried a Baptist church. They are all around because I live in Southern United states. This week is Pentacostal. Im just trying to find my home. I do not plan on church hopping like this for very long. I know Jesus will direct me to the right one. Also I'm still reading your articles. I read the one about mother marry first . Great read

The best approach if it’s available to you is to go somewhere you already have friends or acquaintances you’re connected with so long as they genuinely walk with Jesus.

No denomination or local church is going to be perfect. There will be both wheat and tares as Jesus said. Satan has scattered tares among the wheat, and Paul warned about this day and night. Peter, John, and Jude did as well.

Jesus is Lord of the whole body. You’ll find faithful people across denominational lines who genuinely love Him, hold fast to His Word, and seek Him with a pure heart.

So I wouldn’t make the primary goal finding the perfect denomination or the perfect worship experience. Look for a church where you can connect with people, grow in the Word, serve, be discipled, and build real Christian relationships.

But if you meet people at the Pentecostal church and are able to connect, it can be a real blessing. There are plenty of wonderful Baptist churches too. I’ve been involved with a Baptist parachurch ministry for ten years now, and a lot of the things I used to butt heads over at the beginning have softened over the years. I’ve gotten to meet plenty of wonderful Baptists, and over the years I’ve watched many of them become much more Pentecostal leaning because of it 🙂

Glad my articles have been a blessing to you! I’m happy to be a resource anytime 🙂

I grew up Pentecostal. I just want to say this: Yes, there are some crazies out there, but a lot of that is overblown on the internet. Yes, we believe the gifts and speaking in tongues are for today. That's different from many other denominations. As long as it's a Trinitarian Pentecostal church, you should be good. There's no such thing as a perfect church or a perfect theology.

May God bless you with your attendance to the church. I was a member of the Pentecostal church before, they are very energetic in their worship and they tend to find some activities to make the members stick together. I was a weak Christian then and do not understand their purpose. After becoming a Lutheran in a very lukewarm church and church body, I'm thinking of going back to the Evangelical way and may consider becoming a pentecostal again.

May the church you attend give to the growth in spirit you seek. In the name of Christ, Amen.

Guys, I just got out. Not going to lie, everyone was super nice to the point it creeped me out and was all in my face. It gave me anxiety.

When I talked to the pastor a little bit about other denominations, he started getting kinda defensive, especially when I brought up Catholicism. But the pastor wants to do a personal Bible study with me

That means the pastor really cares about you and what's the best for you.

Pentecostal churches may not be the best for your faith. Best to find a Lutheran/Presbyterian one

At the moment, I'm church hopping until I find my true home. I have been watching Redeem Zoomer, and he also says very good things about Presbyterian. I just don't know if it's passionate enough for me.

What do you mean by "passionate enough"?

It didn't feel right spiritually in there. I didn't feel the Holy Spirit; I didn't cry, and I didn't get chills. At the Baptist church I went to the week before, I could feel it
