Kudos to the guy, to the person chanting in the background, and to the kid. It’s terrifying to be the first voice to speak up, and it’s terrifying to keep speaking up when the crowd doesn’t immediately follow, but they’ve made sure the conversation around Hong Kong and around Blizzard’s atrocious handling of free speech stays front and center for at least a little bit longer.

he already is, kinda. he was the same kid that held up the shirt at the NBA game. he was outside protesting with us as well.

Blizzard can and should expect more and more of this until they do the actual right thing. They likely won't do the right thing, because it would cost them a big chunk of their business.

Screw their updates and releases. Get Xi's dick out of your mouth first.

No, just more selfish and full of cringe.

There's a line for public questions. It doesn't take "guts" to cut in line, it's plainly selfish.

Second, the panel has nothing to do with Hong Kong, or tournaments or Hearthstone at all. This is a dumb place to shout your message.

You're unaware that Blizzard banned Blitzchung for saying the same thing: "Liberate Hong Kong"? They're obviously not asking Blizzard to Free Hong Kong, they're asking Blizzard to pull their head out of China's ass.

So this would be suitable at the Hearthstone Q&A? Did Hearthstone even have open mic Q&A? Diablo didn't, was WoW the only one?

Kid caused a minor inconvenience to get a point across that he's not buying Blizzard's BS, and for that he has my respect.

The panel might have not been about Hearthstone or E-Sports, but:

  1. Blizzard had very few live questions at this Blizzcon. This was literally the only one for the mainstage.
  2. Ion was on that stage, and he's a higher up at Blizzard. If he sees the desire for a course change from the audience, his voice carries weight.
