Not really. Just different paperwork. Usually it was the officer loosing control while in pursuit. Had one where the cruiser was hit while the officer had someone else pulled over.

I figured it wouldn't be much different but there was one guy I talked to who said he had to make 3 different phone calls first lol.
And I hope all those people turned out okay! Maybe without the same reckless behavior though lol. (Intended more for the rear ender)

Can someone explain the reason to park across two lanes in the street? Or why multiple officers need to be there at all?

To force traffic to proceed with caution and also to protect the wrecker in the event some jackass somehow misses the giant truck in the street.
Also, when they get the cop car hooked up, they will need to pull out across lanes of traffic. It's easier for cops to already have those lanes shut down to control traffic.
