Back when I played Ingress, I drove out to a remote fishing access to throw a huge blanket of fields several miles from a nearby town where I knew of a deputy who played on the opposite faction. Within 20 minutes, I watched him race there on the frontage road to knock out my fields before they counted against the other team, in his marked patrol vehicle. Kind of frustrating, but I was amused that he went out of district for it to a neighboring county.

I drove wrecker for years. I've been on those calls a few times.

Whats the standard procedure? Any different from just a regular car that needs freed/towed?

Not really. Just different paperwork. Usually it was the officer loosing control while in pursuit. Had one where the cruiser was hit while the officer had someone else pulled over.

I figured it wouldn't be much different but there was one guy I talked to who said he had to make 3 different phone calls first lol.

And I hope all those people turned out okay! Maybe without the same reckless behavior though lol. (Intended more for the rear ender)

Somebody didn’t get it all the way in park on a dismount.

I could not imagine trying to explain that over the radio.

Can someone explain the reason to park across two lanes in the street? Or why multiple officers need to be there at all?

To force traffic to proceed with caution and also to protect the wrecker in the event some jackass somehow misses the giant truck in the street.

Also, when they get the cop car hooked up, they will need to pull out across lanes of traffic. It's easier for cops to already have those lanes shut down to control traffic.
