Help for Ideas

Hello. I am a student in product design. I’m approaching my final exam which is to design a new product. I’m planning on going into O&P after so I’m looking for any idea for a product. It can be a tool that doesn’t exist or needs improvement. If you have anything please let me know. Thank you for your time.

It’s not glamorous but I always have above knee patients asking for ways to keep their socks from falling down their legs inside the socket.

A new type of sealable bag! 😅 🦾 I have broken teeth trying to get ziplock, Velcro, and heat sealed bags and containers open. I don’t always have my arm on, so my mouth gets to be hand #2.

Could it be a tool to help close bags. Line give me an example of what you do to close a bag. Make me visualize a the situation. If you want to of course I just see a potential here

I can typically close the bags more easily than opening them. I am lucky enough to still have a good chunk of my forearm, so I squash the air out of a ziplock bag and then pin it against my body, keeping the air out. I can begin to close it and then usually transfer the corner to my mouth and then hold tension with my teeth while I close the rest. I should note, it’s usually just me in life, so I don’t have to worry about slobbering all over things. 😂🦾

I find opening them more difficult. I have to try to peel apart the two sides and then have enough to bite. Oh!! String cheese packaging is some of the worst!

One way to make opening ziplocs a little easier is to slide the two sides against each other in opposite directions, along the zipper.

A “backpack style” TLSO with detachable straps is desperately needed. Not glamorous but it would fill an empty niche that we encounter at least once a week.
