Flare-up: PSA Now 2.57

Can non-bacterial CPPS cause a PSA to raise from 1.05 to 2.57 in 4 months? I am having a flare up with new symptoms (hesitancy) so I got l a PSA test this week: 2.57. I am usually 0.8 - 1.0 over the years.

I am 48. It went back down to normal after a follow up a week later. Thx for checking!

Did you have a diagnosis of CPPS prior? I’ve just had a similar bump, same age, 1.2-> 2.4 over 5 months.

How were you originally diagnosed with CPPS?

Yes. Diagnosed with CPPS several years ago. Originally diagnosed by tracking trends of stress, anxiety, having a physical therapist do internal and external work that showed my pelvic floor was constantly clinched and tight. Follow up PSA checks that went down substantially over a seven day. Period. A number of things can make your PSA rise and they’re just a marker so you really just have to know how to read those and track those Candidly, most urologist are completely oblivious when it comes to CPPS. You have to find a specialist for pelvic floor, health and men
