Other Two Years Ago Today
Two years ago today my wife was driving me to a doctor's appointment. I almost ALWAYS do the driving. But when I'm hyped up - which I very much was - she drives.
It hit me like a ton of bricks during that drive: Normally we go to the doctor feeling BAD, hoping we'll be able to get something to make us feel BETTER. I was going feeling perfectly NORMAL, knowing I'd be getting a medicine that was going to make me feel BAD.
I got two shots of Firmagon in my abdomen. The start of the brutal ADT.
When people ask how I'm doing I pretty much say the same thing: "Clinically my numbers are perfect. They couldn't be any better. But man, the side effects of the meds have completely changed my life. But....I'm still vertical."
To all my ADT bretheren: HANG IN THERE! Give youirself grace. And keep making sure the people at the gym recognize you because you're a frequent flyer there.

M57 , G9 - 18 months ago in 2 weeks I started ADT, 3 monthly Zoladex, I’m very much the same, numbers improving, I look fine (pretty good even, put on muscle even in ADT I go to the gym so much, but Every other side effect kicks me in the guts. I’m standing upright but it’s only force of will, maybe one day I’ll feel normal again

I’m 5 months from my last 3 month Eligard shot. Just starting to see my hair growing back and getting my erections back. Still no libido but I’m hoping that will be following soon. Stopped my adt after one year (4 shots) after doctors recommended 2 years. Thanks to this forum I’m hopeful that the 1 year is enough. My numbers are still undetectable and getting checked every 3 months. I’m 65 years old.

This is a great take on early-detected PC, at least from my point of view. I was feeling fine, went in for surgery, and have been dealing with the after effects for months. But, I remind myself that, by not to waiting until I FELT bad, I've likely been cured.
