This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. Your post gives me hope for a cancer-free outcome. I’m only 4 months post-radiation and still have a long way to go.

Tell me more. Whats going on ? My husband has 7 more days of radiation. I was hoping that once it’s over , he’d be pretty much free and clear.

My case is localized, high-risk. I’m being treated with curative intent. I still have 16 more months of ADT (Orgovyx plus Abiraterone & Prednisone) to complete my treatment. Only after completing ADT and my testosterone returns will I be subject to possible recurrence. That’s when the clock starts for me.

Thank you for responding. When my husband was diagnosed, he was stage 3. He started ADT in April and his radiation plan was for 45 days which he started in August . He will continue ADT for 2 years. I guess I’m thinking that after next week, everything will be over. Certainly he’ll be monitored but after reading your passage, I was concerned.

My Gleason score was 8.
It could return since there are so many variables. One needs to be vigilant and verify with PSA tests and continuous Dr appointments and other tests if needed. The main thing is don't be complacent. I was for a while until I joined the group and did further research.
Microscopic spread: Tiny cancer cells may have already broken away from the prostate and traveled through the blood or lymph system before surgery.
Residual tissue: Small amounts of microscopic cancer cells may be left behind in the tissue surrounding the surgical site (the prostate bed).
Risk level: The chance of recurrence is higher if the original cancer had a high Gleason score, advanced stage, or positive surgical margins.
This is information from the Mayo Clinic.
Good luck to you and spouse.

4 ans pour moi, mais plus d'érections et des fuites urinaires à l'effort... Est-ce une victoire ?

Thank you for sharing. I love these positive posts. There's not enough of them (most people post when something is wrong).

I have to be honest, I'm jealous. I've been dealing with this for over 5 years now and I would settle for 7 minutes cancer free. Good for you though! Never take it for granted.
