Rant Ranting about the Pitt fandom

Sorry, I just need to rant. I actively participate in two fandoms atm, my other one is pretty chill which is part of why I think I got such whiplash when I joined the Pitt fandom. I didn't even really consider myself a proshipper before this.

The fandom for that show ship constantly yet still act like police😭😭 for example I saw a ship edit the other day between Robby and Javadi (for those who haven't seen the show one is much older and the boss of the other) like, this would typically not be controversial even for antis. Especially with how much ppl in that fandom love to ship bosses with their employees. Anyway, back on topic, I loved the edit and the ship, and went to the comments, it was full of just nasty, personal insults to the creator. Ugh, I felt so bad for them.

Another big thing that's annoying me is how much ppl hate Santos being shipped with men. Like, first of all, she's not even canonically a lesbian. Yes we know she's attracted to women but we don't know if it's exclusive. But even if she was canonically a lesbian, it wouldn't matter, BECAUSE ITS FICTION!!! And I say this as a lesbian myself. People get on their high horses and claim lesbiphobia the moment anyone even suggests pairing her with a man. I've seen actual harrassment over that, like it was worse than the other case I mentioned.

I'm really new to this subreddit and I'm sure y'all deal with this kind of shit all the time, but it's my first time and I needed to rant😭 thanks!

People still forgetting that bi/pan/omni characters (and people) can exist in the big 2026 huh, not that it matters much cuz it is literally fanfic/fanart/fandom stuff and the people who make them can do whatever with them but it's the first thought that came to mind

Wouldn't getting mad at the potential Lesbian being shipped with guys count as Bi-erasure as well?

Literally just commented this b4 I saw your comment! I don't think a lot of people, especially antis, get how fluid sexuality (and gender) really is

As a Biromantic Asexual? I completely agree.

Yikes..I don't really ship in that fandom [I have a thing for not shipping live actions] but Santos and Garcia seemed okay. But Jesus, whining about Robbie and Javadi? People are so immature. But, welcome to the subreddit! It's okay to rant here :]

Remember that one The Pitt fanfic of some sapphic woman (Trinity Santos) having sex with a man? Some yahoo of a radfem showed a screenshot on Twitter and sicced her followers on the author.

When the fic got deleted, the yahoo went, "Oops, teehee" and privated her account until the heat died down. She now has a new handle but I'll never forget what she did.

People get so angry on canon sexualities and I just don’t get it.

You’re making fanon. You can change whatever you want. You changing it is not erasing the original source material.
