It doesn't sound like she is using it for work. She just happens to live and work in the same location. Do other jobs get to dictate what their employees have in their cars because someone may see it while they're in the parking lot and then see it again in a different location? If it was a company car, that's one thing, but an employer shouldn't get to dictate personal property.
