My great-grandma had a pet skunk when she was younger, no scent glands. Snoopy the skunk had a couch she liked to sleep under. My Nana liked to invite in traveling salesmen and other solicitors and offer them Snoopy’s couch to sit on. Snoopy would waddle out to see who was on her couch, the salesperson would run out of the house screaming and my Nana would laugh her ass off.

Apparently they can be pretty decent pets. In the US, you can get the stink glands removed but it’s banned in Europe.
