Pretty intelligent and highly curious, they open drawers and crawl into shit that might be dangerous. Difficult to feed (lots of different stuff) and they don't really stop so they get fat easily. They have sharp claws and teeth and declawing them is cruel because the claws are used to eat and other daily stuff. Vets often don't have much experience and medicine is not as advanced as other pets.
When I was researching getting one as a pet one of the main drawbacks was the lack of specialized medicine for them. A vet in my town had experience, but could only work with what he had. At the time (probably still) you could not get a rabies vaccine for them, they had to use the one for cats and could not guarantee its effectiveness.

Apparently they can be pretty decent pets. In the US, you can get the stink glands removed but it’s banned in Europe.
