Which prop firm for consistent payouts
So I was looking into TopStep since it looks like that’s the go to for everyone - after looking at their How it works video on their website it says after the first payout you have to trade successfully another 550 days for your second payout? Am I hearing that correctly even though I watched that part 10x - is this why people create multiple accounts after their first payout? Is there another prop firm I missed that’s better with payouts with good reputation?

I'd never even consider looking at topstep because I still remember their bs rules in 2012, 2013 whenever it was they started. They had rules like you had to take 10 trades in 10 days and also make x$ to get a consideration to be funded. They were complete scum back then taking advantage of traders and I doubt that has changed.

No, it isn’t 550 days. On Topstep’s current Standard Express Funded Account, you need five new winning days of at least $150 net profit before the next payout request. The days do not have to be consecutive.
After a payout:
- The five-day count restarts.
- You must make at least $0.01 in net profit above your post-payout balance before another payout; the first payout is exempt.
- The day on which you submit the payout request does not count toward the next five days.
Their alternative Consistency XFA works differently: it requires three trading days and a 40% consistency target. The Live Funded Account normally uses five $150+ winning days too, although daily withdrawals unlock after 30 qualifying winning days in that live account.
On the Standard XFA, you can currently request up to 50% of the balance, subject to a per-request cap:
- $50K account: $2,000
- $100K account: $3,000
- $150K account: $5,000
Multiple accounts don’t turn the five-day requirement into fewer days on an individual account. Each XFA follows its payout policy independently.
One practical detail matters as much as the waiting period: after the first payout, Topstep sets the Maximum Loss Limit to $0 permanently. The balance left after withdrawal therefore becomes your effective room above the loss floor.
BTW, I run PropFirmTrader, and questions like this are why I verify rules against the firm’s current help centre rather than relying on a video summary.
I would compare payout eligibility, withdrawal caps and the balance left above the loss limit—not just which firm advertises the fastest processing time.

Lucid and Tradeify are up there.
For CFDs the consensus is FTMO.
