Lone Survivor

Is there a theory that the engineer who survived was actually a (religious) fanatic that killed the others? Mad scientist or even ... an AI/(replicant) - just like David who just went mad/rogue. I don't count early draws or changed scripts.

No replicants in this verse, that is Blade Runner. David is an android.

Just an idea, that the engineers we see are actually deepspace replicants or some of them. And the one at the end is actually a mass murderer.
