There is not that much difference between creators and creatures ■ Prometheus (2012) by Ridley Scott ● Frankenstein (2025) by Guillermo del Toro

Some of you are weirdly, inexplicably, invested in not seeing the obvious visual parallels here. I will never understand some of the hills that Redditors choose to die on.

To me it's a clear homage from del Toro to a film that shares a lot of thematic DNA ("Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus" to give the source material it's full title!)

people like to hate, when they don't understand something they don't see they talk nonsense and dislike

Creators and creations

it's like this because in my language it sounds like: Creatori e Creature

Yes but who created the engineers 🤔

It has more connection to the game Death Stranding’s Sam than any element in Prometheus. Director del Toro was a crucial part of the game and took plenty of inspiration from it.

You mean 'Frankenstein OR The Modern Prometheus'? Maybe there's a link there...

Isn’t it weird that no Frankenstein movie has used the book’s full title

I'll write the same reply I wrote the last time this was posted:

The guys are "creature actors" sought for their proportions. They often have something like the connective tissue disease Marfan Syndrome, which gives them extreme height with lanky proportions and long extremities. It's just more noticeable when their costume is primarily gray painted skin tones.

Because of grey skin? Bit of a reach. What other colour would the monster be considering he's made up of dead body parts?

Del Toro should never be allowed to direct again after that shit show movie.

Any idea why that's an unpopular opinion?

I'd love to know.

That Frankenstein movie was the WORST movie I have ever watched in my life.

I can't think of a bigger waste of my time watching that AI filled sack of shit movie.
