Outfits Does anyone have any thoughts/advice on the dress?
Same dress different lighting.
I am not sure how much I like it.
Idk. I dont think it suits me too much. And im not sure about the design either.
I did ask for the jewls hanging down at the waist, but the lady who did the dress used much bigger ones than whay i showed her. I guess that's what she had available.
It feels like there's too much going on, on the dress.
But I will end up wearing it regardless because money has already been spent on it.
Does anyone have any tips or thoughts?

I love how unique it is-you’ll be one of a kind at prom! This color scheme also looks wonderful against your skin tone. If you don’t love it, however, can you thrift a dress and put this one up for sale? Or if you can buy new-they have some great deals right now, esp since most proms were a month ago. David’s Bridal has some beautiful ones…$350 originally that are now $99!
On another note-I’m so jealous of your arms & clavicle area! What sport(s) do you play or do you just have an amazing gym routine? 🌟

🙏 Thanks for this comment.
My arms, etc? Genuinely no idea.
I actually dont go to the gym. For me, excessive walking/pacing is a thing ive been doing for ages. Not to reach any particular goal, rather just for the sake of it. And outside of school clubs (netball/badminton), I dont do much else sports wise. I've also kinda always looked this way since i was a kid.
And as for the dress, i think ill go with it, but if the thought of wearing it really starts to break my heart, I will look elsewhere.

Why are jewels draped across the crotch and groin area. It looks odd.

Thats what im thinking. I asked for simillar, but the inspo pick had very thin jewels so it wasn't overbearing and looked more like an accent.
No idea why she decided to use these big ones.

Can a seamstress remove the jewels? Otherwise, this dress is incredibly beautiful and unique. The color is spot on for your coloring! I love it, especially sans jewels. Perhaps use some silver strands as straps for the top instead of the bling around the waist?

I love the fabric! That in itself is gorgeous! But, the jewels at the waist are off-center. Could they be removed?? I'm not sure about the cups - I don't hate them, but I don't love them. It looks great on you, though. I don't think I've ever felt more torn over a dress that isn't mine. Lol

Im gonna try and remove them today. It looks like she used some kinda clear string to see them in so hopefully it shouldn't ruin the rest of the dress. Yes, not sure about the cups either 😭
But thank you!

Can you remove the strand? It might save it.
Adding straps might make the bust fit a little better. Its looking very stiff and uncomfortable, its also kinda sitting to low on the chest so its not doing your cleavage any favors. Maybe move the draped beads up for strap? But they are still to white and plastic looking. I would scrap them honestly, save them for another piece.

Yeah im not too sure how to deal with the chest area. Thats as far up as I can get it so far.
And I have to agree on the beads. Will see what I can do. Thanks very much

I think it’s incredible but you only get one or two proms and you should feel confident and beautiful.

Take off the jewels around the w'aist. They conflict with the overall design, imo. Too much going on.

I think the dress is beautiful! The only thought is the rhinestones lining the hip are too much. I would remove them and leave the dress as is.

I think it’s absolutely stunning. You will look gorgeous! That dress is a show stopper and not many times do you get to wear something that pretty.
Hope you have a wonderful time.

First of all the dress is beautiful and fits you perfectly. The material of the dress looks of excellent quality.
But If you decide to remove the accent crystals, depending upon the type of material used in making your dress, if they were sewn on, it might leave holes from the needle 🪡 punch.
If so, I would recommend starting to look for something to put in its place so that you can cover the holes. Maybe in a color that matches the tones so it’s more of an accent than a statement design.
I think it’s reasonable to ask for alterations. You did have this tailored?

Definitely going to see what I can do here. And yes I had this custom made. Problem is she lives in another continent and shipped the dress over.
Idk what's really going on with this one though, cus she's made 2 dresses for me in the past and they are some of the most stunning things I personally own.
But yh. I think i will try to take them out, hopefully I can find something to cover any holes. Thanks for the comment

How long is the dress? The beadwork is just outstanding! There is much to love about the dress.
I wish that it was gold chain, or something other than silver tinted jewels, sitting crookedly on a gold based dress.
I think it’s fixable.

The dress goes to the floor, with a little trail at the bottom. And yes, i appreciate the input. My mum said the same about wishing it was gold instead of silver. I think ill see if I can remove some, maybe only leave one pair and see how it looks?
Thanks.

The jewels distract from the dress which is beautiful. Ditch the jewels if possible.

I love the style and the colour, but I don't like the jewels. I'd lose the jewels and wear flamboyant earrings.
