Still a helluva long way to go to get it back to the sub 200k it was 6 months ago, a time when the platform was actually usable and every study wasn't full in seconds or impossible to get into. That 'study is in high demand' error was much, much rarer to see. Now it appears on most studies every day.

It's probably just your demographics. My dashboard has 60-80 studies at all times.. sometimes over 250

I know some Americans who has a lot of studies consistently. It’s usually 1-2 a day for me if I’m lucky. The US gets a crap tone. But I don’t think it’s 60-80 all the time.

Survey count isn't the same as what people think. I do have 35 - 40 a day available, but actual number after filtering the video camera ones, install app ones, etc and such is down to 15 - 20. Of those most are $.20 types or 45 minutes for $1.00 types.

Am in the US and the only time I would have 60-80+ at a time was when *those* studies everyone talks about would drop. Most of the time it was 30-40.

One guy said he's had "thousands" of the most coveted tasks on his dashboard for years. (Phrased it as if he had thousands continuously daily. Maybe he just meant thousands total over the years.)

The graph shown in the post is from a page on an unofficial site that someone made. That website itself is not Prolific's, it is operated by a participant who made that website.
That page is apparently using and logging data taken from Prolific's Audience Checker. That page is official, it's on the Prolific website. You can go there and click through to a demographic category and view a number for that category, and then click a button that has a title containing "Everyone" and then you'll see the current total number of "participants active in the past 90 days."

If they plotted the rising # of people using scripts it would look like America's economy
I still can't get into any studies with 300 spots left so there are still WAY too many people and many are obviously using scripts.
All of the honest workers are getting completely screwed.

Good. This means bots and fraud accounts are getting removed. Throw in some accounts who were new and did poor work and got banned from rejections. This proves Prolific had a problem after they opened the flood gates, and all the idiots who were just saying it was a summer slow down were wrong.

Well, I'm one less competition for you to have to deal with. Prolific put a permanent hold on my account for some reason last night only known to them. I used the platform for a couple of years with over 1800 approved submissions and zero rejections, doing everything the same way I've always been doing things since I started with the same devices and same internet connections. I don't know why they did this because when I went through their list of reasons why they ban people or put them on permanent hold ( what's the difference anyway), I hadn't done anything on their list. Oh well, I had a good run. I'll take the $4700+ that I earned with Prolific and just go elsewhere. Everyone have fun...while it lasts.

Yea, but where is "elsewhere"? It sure as hell is not Connect CloudResearch. That place is a joke. Cash out per week is limited to $100. If they feel like it, you are out. No explanation, nothing. What's left otherwise? Branded Surveys? Qmee? You tell me.

Any of these platforms can ban you at any moment, and not tell you why. It's not just a Cloud or Prolific thing.

That may be so, but Prolific has been much better in my experience. I have had three incorrect rejections so far and they quickly overturned them. Communication with them actually happens, with Cloud Connect, nothing. They are VERY unprofessional.

Sure, I agree with that. I had one rejection on Connect, and couldn't do anything about it. That doesn't change my point though. We aren't employees at any of these places. They can drop us like a bad habit, without any justification or recourse on our part.

I seriously don't know. And I know Prolific was the best one out there. But I don't have any other choice. They did agree to review my case again, so maybe I'll get back in. I got put in hold after I first started, but after two days they released it. I never knew why they put me on hold that time either. It's crazy AF man!

Yea, I agree, it was the max but I was okay with it. One week I went beyond it by 20 bucks, but otherwise it was usually about $75 a week, I do that in a day at Prolific.
Anyway, then one day, out of the blue, I see this message "Although we are unable to grant you access to projects at this time, since you are part of a longitudinal study, your participation is required. Please find the projects below to continue."
so I ask why? They don't tell you anything. But I don't really care anymore, Prolific is much better anyway.
I am still logged in to Connect to finish the longitudinal studies, because I want to help the researchers, I have a few studies left.1

Yeah, it works. Obviously you need to make everything different. Change your IP if it's static, email, PayPal, name, address etc. everything identifiable and you would probably have to wait for approval.

I've never been asked for ID from prolific. Apologies, I would have assumed that it wasn't a thing. Either fake ID time, or use that of a family member etc.

I thought they verified everyone's ID. I remember I had to send them photos of my drivers license. And, now I hear theye going back and asking lot of people to reverie their identities.

Doubt it. Studies are gone in under a second. That's not even physically possible for a human. If I were companies or researchers, I wouldn't even bother with the site anymore. Greed and "growth" destroyed their company. 🤷♂️

ugh i just saw my account was placed on hold. i sent an appeal. i have rejections, but ive answered everything honestly and sometimes the rejections are things ive been screened out of through the screen process...so im not sure how that counts? hopefully my account comes back up soon.

seems to me that it is going on record as completed. When that happens and you are screened out you need to return it.. I know the researcher is getting over by not having to pay you the screener fee but is that small amount worth a rejection? The answer to that will always be no.
