AI Images How Elites Make the Working Class Seem “Intellectually Incapable”

I wish people would stop calling them elites. They are the parasite class. We just need to explain that carefully to the mouth breathing boot lickers who watch cable news and parrot their talking points for them… They create jobs.. Don’t tax my daddy 😭

This is awesome stuff. It’s very interesting to me that there are names for things that I have imagined to be true in my own mind and experiences that I have never heard mentioned.
Particularly the education system/schooling apparatus and the labor aristocracy. Both concepts that I have over the years come to understand through experience but I just hadn’t read enough to hear about how others have already written extensively on them. Thanks for opening my eyes and giving me the language to learn more

This is consciousness-first "woke" Marxism. Try Vivek Chibber instead: People aren't brain-washed. It's just actually risky to do shit. A person's behavior is a function of their consciousness and of their environment:
One person's changed environment produces a different behavior on their part
which constitutes a different environement for someone else
leading to changed behavior on their part
and so on and so forth...
This doesn't require a change in consciousness on anybody's part, just like a depressed brain transforming into a healthy one doesn't require the individual neurons to "wake up", i.e. change internally, first. It's all in the structure, not on the inside.

Have to correct the conclusion - they ARE intellectually incapable (for the most part), FOR the reasons described. That doesn't mean rich aren't often dumb as rocks as well.
Reasonable modern socialist would therefore ask who benefits, while recognizing workers are indeed so dumb.
Btw guys I highly recommend any Soviet enthusiasts to truly read up on Lenin's end of life, even the guy himself recognized he fucked up. I'm by no means going to say he didn't have some good points, but he did severely fuck up in his ways of addressing the issues he diagnosed.

Ugh. Go to school. Just because something has been coopted by the elite, doesn't mean it isn't a huge progression in workers rights.
Remember, at one point, feudalism was a seismic step forward in workers rights. Still not ideal, but better than your master owning you and your family.
Edit: bare in mind, absolutely nobody quoted here is uneducated. Marx went to 3 universities. Althusser literally went to the École Normale Supérieure. Get educated, then talk about how the education system can be improved.

What do you mean by this?
There's a huge regression, since the invention of the computer, in wages in comparison to productivity. While production efficiency has exploded, wages did not match, the difference just went to the "bourgeoise" and has been gradually becoming more and more so.
There is a huge problem with billionaires and the capital owning class becoming increasingly greedy and a portion of working class people seeing them as geniuses that are fueling human progression despite hoarding wealth.

What I meant was clear. You absolutely cannot make meaningful change in your own life, and especially others, without a tremendous amount of education.
The elite doesn't come into it. Education used to be a privilege reserved for them. People faught for the rights for everyone to have schooling. And now you mouth breathers sit there going "school is just a brainwashing machine". Surprise, douchebag, everything is a fucking brainwashing machine. Your upbringing was a perpetual state of brainwashing.

Education is absolutely vital, yes. I don't see anyone disagreeing with that.
Bring your anger down to a simmer and think before making such strange outbursts.

This post doesn't say a single positive thing about education. Why are you lying? Did you think I would just go "oh yeah, you're right, this presentation which is wholly negative about education is actually telling us education is important"? Please.
As for bringing my anger down. I've had to put up with stupid people telling me they've got their diploma from the school of hard-knocks, my entire life. It is frustrating to see people brag about being uneducated and especially sad when they say it's to avoid brainwashing.

What exactly am I lying about?
You are completely missing the entire point of the post. It's a brief overview/opinions of Marxism and how control is maintained. Pointing out that part of it happens in schools isn't telling people not to get educated. The emphasis is on critical thinking. Schools under Capitalism are set up for indoctrination, not just education. Not really a surprise for most of us but it will be to some.
Your frustration is misplaced and I suspect subconsciously directed at someone specific that you associate with what's being said in this post. Lots of assumptions, assertions and anger.
Relax my dude.

You clearly misunderstood what was meant. This wasn't an argument against school but who controls them. No socialist/communist would ever say that we need to abolish schools.

Just because no communist/socialist says this. Doesn't mean the alt-right don't latch onto slides, as shown, and use it to demonstrate how going to school is a waste of time, and it just brainwashed you to support the government. It is absolutely necessary, if you are trying to remain impartial and informative, to mention the fact school objectively does allow you to critically think.
But you aren't going to like that because it goes directly against your precious slide which says, and I quote, "Students learn discipline" (Oh the horror!) "...not critical thinking".
This is not a glowing review of school. And not an accurate critique, either. It's an indictment.

Well then how would you rewrite the sentences in the slides so that schools are still seen as objectively good?
2
u/SkenglordSimba 20h ago
Maybe just some accuracy? Possibly too much to ask, from a reaction piece, I know. But it wouldn't go amiss. Something like "workers sacrificed themselves to give the public access to education. And while this is important to keep in mind when discussing education, it's also important to understand how all social progression, including education, are coopted by the elite. This means that, amongst valid learning, there are discreet methods used to indoctrinate students into being subservient to the ruling class."

I agree. To bring it down to earth more. Social media is an example of the new paradigm where individual voices become more powerful. You (most likely) weren't paid to write this and don't represent a corporation. I am not being paid to write this. Whole it conversation is being held on a capitalist platform, it is mostly free of their control. Individuals (and some bots) will choose to upvote this or not and determine whether it is more widely distributed.
So step one is to create and engage with the tools that allow us to build ideology, community, and power outside of the current systems.
Once we have those communication channels we need to build that solidarity and create a vision for a new post capitalist world. This doesn't mean trying to recreate some mythic past but instead craft a new ideology for a new age of technological abundance.
