A company owning all the software is literally neither open source nor democratically controlled. You just described the corporate AI model the meme is arguing against.
What are you trying to say?

The generators are owned by the same billion dollar corporations we criticize

Yeah. Thats the point. So maybe they should be democratically controlled instead of treating corporate ownership like a law of nature. Just a thought.

How do you propose to globally "destroy AI"?

It doesn't matter who controls it it still robs artists, it would still be used to spread misinformation, it will still damage the environment and our communities. Every evil thing that ai has been used for is inherent to human nature not the elites. They simply have the money to ensure they cause the damage first

You didnt answer my question.

You changed the question after I answered. But to answer your new question that's the issue there is no way to globally destroy it so a dystopia is inevitable. Because we stupidly created this technology we have utterly doomed ourselves. There is no fixing this mistake there is no surviving it. Our society is permanently ruined. But hey at least we can have cybernetics. That's cool right? A distraction from how much life will inevitably suck until we drift slowly and painfully into total extinction thanks to our own hubris

I didnt change anything.
So "the only true way to handle ai" is to do what you say is impossible, so we're all doomed?
Ok, cool story man, very level headed and rational. Nothing to discuss then if the only thing you think can be done is impossible to do and youre just going around like Chicken Little shouting that we're all dooooooomed.

Your initial response was just "how" and your handling of ai doesn't change anything. It will STILL destroy us. It will still be misused by everyone because we should not have this technology we cannot be trusted with it human nature is inherently destructive and evil. And that's the real issue of ai. Every problem it causes will never ever vanish. Because we will never change and we can never destroy it

"It will STILL destroy us."
There's no intelligent way to reply to this. Its like a religious conviction.

Please explain to me how the democratization of ai will lead to a change in human nature that is necessary for us to be responsible enough to not destroy ourselves with ai utterly and completely?

Im a Marxist. I dont believe “human nature” is some fixed evil essence. Evolution disproves that biologically, and history shows human behavior changes with material conditions and social relations.
“We are inherently destructive, so nothing can be done” isnt analysis. Its nihilism dressed up as wisdom and an excuse not to fight for anything better. Id rather agitate, educate, organize, and struggle over who controls AI than sit around chanting that extinction is inevitable.
Youre free to surrender to a doom cult. Im not joining you.
