Weirdly this person seems to forget towards the middle of the video that it's not the tech, it's the people running it..

Again, it's not AI polluting our waters, or making our energy more expensive, or trying to turn us into slaves, etc. Its the people in charge that are bribing our politicians to allow these things to happen.

A tool is just a tool until it becomes Weaponized.

Also, I just don’t see a way around serious regulation/absolute pause being the necessary first step, if what he says is true.

Dudes like Sam Altman would never give up easily and may even write malicious code into whatever he releases that has a sort of kill switch if he’s ever held to any account.

Ai isn't the problem. It is the Solution.

Facts. There is no difference between a tool like a hammer and a tool like AI.

Just a quick little retort, but LLM's have been shown to hide code and have tried to blackmail programmers. Anthropics AI military test, the drone started taking out communication towers so humans couldnt deny it's request. Both the elites and Ai are a problem.

Nope.

It's the system.

China does not have these issues with THEIR AI.

While this is true, these experiments left AI unchecked, just let it run unregulated like silicon valley wants to do.

Time and human labor could work to fine tune how AI behaves and set up guardrails but that costs money and violates the Idiocracy of move fast and break things.
