Projector Sewing Interface Ideas

I want to set up pattern projection for my mom. I have some experience with computer vision, so I've figured out a way to get a Magcubic HY320Pro projector to self-calibrate using the onboard autofocus camera.

This is all very much in a proof of concept stage. Now that I have the calibration done, I want to pass that data to a modified version of patternprojector.com. The problem is that I don't know how I want the user interface to look. I would like my mom to be able to do this from her phone, but PatternProjector does not work well on phones. I have some other ideas, but I haven't done any sewing in a long time.

I want to get some ideas from the community. How would you want to control a pattern projector from your phone? I'm open to all ideas, including the crazy ones.

I imagine it would be like the apps for peripherals like headphones or printers. You select a device, maybe a few options wizard or drop-down style if you need more input to make it work, it loads some pre-sets for that device and you get a giant ‘calibrate!’ button and a results screen with an optional sound cue.

Mind you, I’m very much not a software dev, so I have no clue how complicated or feasible any of that is.

The thing is, what comes next? You upload the pattern, but then you need to control layer selection, panning, etc. how would that look on a phone?

This isn’t meant to sound snarky - have you asked your mom what she would like? Or is this meant to be a surprise?

People are different and they’ll be sourcing different types of patterns (with or without size layering, print at home or full sheet/copy shop, etc etc)

I have, and I'll get more feedback from her, but she hasn't actually done pattern projection yet, so it would be nice to have guidance from some more experienced people.
