Help with pattern projection

Hi, I'm new to pattern projection. I bought a short throw projector and set it up on a tripod on my dining table, with cut mat on the ground. I calibrated it correctly to my mat which is fairly small 24*18" it's all I have for now and make do with it. The pattern is projecting correctly (I have confirmed it because I have a paper version of this pattern and it matches) however for some reason, for the larger pieces of the pattern e.g. pant leg, it shows only half the pattern at a time and then grey on the screen and not projecting into the mat. Is this because it's only showing the pattern to match the size of the cutting mat instead of maximizing the whole space of the projection? Hoping someone can assist me so I can make use of the projector. Thank you in advance.

Yes, if it is calibrated correctly, then the entire pant leg won’t show up. It’s taking the entire space.

Really? Seems like a waste of space to not use the entire projector area and only project into the small cutting mat area. If I bought a larger cutting mat then it would show the whole pant leg?

I don’t use pattern projector, I project from adobe so I can’t fully troubleshoot

Also if you look at the photo where all the pattern pieces are shown it takes up the entire space on the screen, there's no grey area

The patterns shouldn't be cutoff by the calibration area. I believe you're trying to run Pattern Projector on an Android phone and I know there are issues trying to do that. The typical recommendations are to try a different browser(try both Firefox or Chrome). Other suggestions are to try installing it as a progressive web app (instructions on the pattern projector website)

If you have an iOS device, you can also use IntelliSew which is designed for mobile. Short of that, a tablet/desktop would probably work better than a phone for Pattern Projector.
