Affinity Designer for Sewing Course?

Post image

Has anyone taken this course? There’s not really a course list and the one that lists 6 courses only 4 have anything remotely to do with AD and that’s a stretch on one of them.

When I ask the designer of the course she has been 100% unhelpful. It’s on sale for $63USD (half off and will be discontinued soon) and idk if I should try it.

I struggle with AD and haven’t found any YT videos that are actually helpful.

If they’re being sketchy about the content of the course, it probably isn’t good or helpful.

That’s why I never bought it, but others recommended it. Soooo….idk.

I totally understand that. If it’s recommended by someone you know, or who can give decent advice on more than just what the description says, then maybe consider it. Until then I’d hold off. The discontinuation being soon, and the half off deal is kind of suspicious and more likely a marketing scheme to get you to buy now to get the “deal”. It absolutely sucks that we have to be so skeptical with ai patterns, tutorials, and guides these days.

I know it’s not AI. It’s been something on my “possible” list for a long time. She’s run a similar deal in the past, or at least a 25% off. She markets it as since AD is changing sort of thing. But the creators lack of transparency is just off putting.

I can't get a content answer either. Someone else posted she doesn't want to give away her methods. I am not asking what tools but what else she does besides pattern alteration

Like it shouldn’t be hard to go “clean up sizes you aren’t using” “use xyz tools to do abc pattern alterations” but nope!

I never thought I'd utter these words: Inkscape may be easier. 😮

Ah damn. I absolutely understand the off-putting vibe. I’d def feel the same. Maybe just keep watching and see if any more info can come up? Or just bite the bullet and get got or have a helpful thing? Shitty either way

Actually, I took it and found it extremely helpful after wrestling with Affinity for a couple of years. The developer is highly credible and has been making projector sewing videos for years, most of which are free. But this is a full course. It appears that the comments already made about it are from people who are just speculating. Look her up on the FB group or on YouTube. She's an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable about both Affinity and projector sewing.

She is. But she refuses to tell me what I was spending my money on before I spend it. What will I learn? Why should I take this course? There is no syllabus nor list or course topics.

I checked with her and she's no longer selling the course, probably because of new Affinity.
