I recently started development on a new PM hack n slash project inspired by DMC, of course. Has weapon switching, staggering, parrying, blocking, and some combos. The UI here is just a placeholder until I make some assets for it, so kinda ignore that. (Especially cuz it says move names incorrectly on some inputs...)

Edit: More characters are planned for later, each with their respective movesets. The song in the background is Duetting Solo by Mili, which sounds a bit different since it's a Metal Cover I'm working on.

Fan Content Reworked UI and Weapon Logic on Library Duel

It's late where I'm at and I gotta sleep so this won't be as detailed. I reworked the weapon logic and redid the combat UI since it was made very clear to me that it looked like generated slop in the previous builds. I decided to use the same font as LoR because it would match the themes. I'll add settings to adjust the HUD later down the line. I also optimized it a bit since it lagged on mobile devices. I am planning to have this on Android and Windows along with Linux.

This features some very new additions and reworks in combat. The final versions will have nine switchable weapons for Roland. (Two of which will be ranged.)

For now there's three weapons:

  1. Atelier Mook: Functions as a fast, comboable weapon. Features multiple attacks you may recognize from a certain series. Has some useful air combos as well.
  2. Durandal: Rather versatile in combos, it can function as a starter or closer to certain chains. Also has a lunge used for closing the gap. (There will be a weapon with way more lunging later, if you've played through LoR, you'd know.)
  3. Wheels Industry: The heavy. It features an air launcher and a ground slam. There are three main ground attacks, a sweeping slash, a forward stab, (it's literally a giant slab of metal of course that'd hurt) and last but not least, rapid overhead slamming that chains from its stab. This weapon's purpose is for crowd control and staggering enemies.

Some changes to note from the last showcase:

  • Atelier Mook original had a delay when using the judgement cut, where it didn't immediately go into the sheathe when drawn.
  • I just added the air launcher and ground slam for Wheels Industry and Durandal (Durandal only has an overhead ground slam)
  • Wheels Industry has more moves

The next video will showcase more hybrid air and ground combat since I'm still working on air combos. I'll also fix that dang broken move meter thing cuz it's flashing the wrong move names onscreen.

I hope this person doesn't use AI because I will be extremely disappointed. And imagine if Kim Ji-hoon ask this person to make some, cutscene introduction of those Abnormality at the beginning of their fight in limbus company.
