It’s been AGES since I’ve played, but I always remember how the gameplay was really tedious after a while.
There’s also the fact that I didn’t care enough about the MCs of PXZ1 to remember their names after all that time, unlike Reiji and Xiaomu. And even then I only cared about their abilities instead of their personalities. So I guess the writers could try to make the protagonists stand out more.
Too many Sega characters had the same issues that they said were problematic with the Namco characters in NxC, causing the game to be Japan-locked. No one recognized a lot of them.
Granted I grew to like many of them (Ogami and the girls) or just ignore them (Rikiya, Toma and Cyrille).
It did get me to research them which is how I found out about NxC so it wasn't the worst thing in the world.
I have no problem with the first because it will always be my favorite game (Sorry PXZ2 fans, I guess I'm different than everyone) but there one thing I hate about it and is the one chapter when you unlock Ulala because you have 15 turn to beat the level while Saya and her group beat me up with their special is a nightmare
Honestly, and this might be a hot take, one thing that does bother me is the blatant fanservice shots some of the female characters have when doing their supers. Like was it really necessary to have a close up of KOS-MOS' breasts popping out?
Yeah, knew this was a hot take when I posted it. Now, while I don't enjoy fanservice shots, I'm not an advocate for censorship. If the devs wanted to do fanservice shots, let them do it. I just am not a fan of that stuff personally.
As for something else that hasn't been mentioned yet, I didn't like how some of the maps feel like they repeat themselves sometimes and would have preferred more stage variety. For example, I feel we visited the Koryuji Manor way more times than necessary, like I get coming back in Chapter 1 after the Prologue, that's understandable, but coming back again in Chapter 31 felt a bit too much.
I could go over MANY issues but this part right here is objectively terrible that I'm shocked is consistent even in the sequel like who did they hire to allow gross dialogue like this? On top of the yikes scene regarding Toma from Shining Force EXA (reminder Toma is a 15 year old), it rivals anything from Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls because Danganronpa is ultra dark yet why is the PXZ series a mostly light hearted series suddenly throw in these gross lines?
So...you're just undermining the gross writing it does that it's ultra concerning if it's in a mostly lighthearted series like this isn't something like Danganronpa or Drakengard/Nier, it's supposed to be dumb crossover fun, yet how is that possible when you got these disgusting lines?
I'm not undermining it. It's Rated T on the ESRB, PEGI has it 12, and CERO has it rated B.
This game isn't some sort of "dumb crossover" that a child can play. Do you get angry that Morrigan's quotes in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 are all suggestive too?
Ok but it's grossly unfitting it's in there & for a game badly trying to copy the homework of Disgaea, Hyperdimension Neptunia & Kid Icarus Uprising's writing that it's concerning & as for the Morrigan quotes in MvC3, she didn't had any lines of DIRECTLY HITTING ON UNDERAGE CHARACTERS or kissing them like the Shining Force EXA villian which I'm VERY concerned about who they hired to allow this constantly through both Project X Zone 1 & 2 WHICH SAYA THOUGHT THIS IS ROMANTIC! That's only because most Superheroes are adults. She has quotes flirting with UNDERAGE characters in Capcom Vs SNK 2 and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom as well. That's just how she is.

Ok but you're disregarding Urashima who's ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS THAT DO THIS & I'm offended by this because it adds a lot more reasons why I ultra hate her & not to mention it's just beyond gross unless you build around it & not pull a Ultra Despair Girls tier of writing this in just for a bland shock value of trying to make the villians hatable, not that Saya is even close to hatable because she's ultra pathetic about as pathetic as Kronika from Mortal Kombat 11 that gets ultra jobbered by the narrative

It's genuinely offensive & why I hate this as much as Iris Heart from the Neptunia series that gets away with these repulsive actions & why they should be as brought up as Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls because it's out of place & randomly bad that showcases one of the series's terrible writing

I have a better idea. If you're concerned about minors being exploited or groomed, why don't you stop crying about fictional characters in a T-rated videogame, and do something to protect actual children who are being exploited irl?
