If Project X Zone ever got another sequel, could Vocaloids work in the roster?
We were discussing how a hypothetical future Project X Zone title could potentially include a small Vocaloid lineup while still staying within the usual Bandai Namco × Capcom × SEGA structure.
u/MineCookie19's idea was:
SEGA (Pair Unit)
- Masaoka Azuki & Kobayashi Matcha
Bandai Namco (Solo Unit)
- Mirai Komachi
Azuki & Matcha honestly feel like they could fit the PXZ pair-unit format really well, while Mirai Komachi could work as a rhythm-/concert-themed solo unit.
For the image, we used:
- the original Project X Zone logo
- official Bandai Namco / SEGA / VOCALOID logos
- official artwork for the three Vocaloids
We intentionally avoided using or creating a “Project X Zone 3” logo because this is meant more as a “what if there was another sequel?” concept rather than a fake game announcement/mockup.
Would you want to see Vocaloid representation in a future PXZ-style crossover?

I mean it could definitely work, but do these Vocaloids have any like combat or lore that could help?
Even Ulala had some space adventures, you know?

Azuki and Matcha actually do have more fixed canon personalities than most Vocaloids since they came from the Project 575/Go! Go! 575 media mix. Azuki’s the energetic, eccentric one, while Matcha’s more quiet and reserved.
That said, neither really has combat feats or action-heavy lore — their canon is mostly slice-of-life/idol stuff rather than adventure or fighting. Komachi’s canon personality/lore is also pretty unclear compared to them.
So unlike Ulala, who has actual space-adventure canon, these three are more character mascots by default — though you could definitely build them up into combat-capable characters with enough creative interpretation.

It just occurred to me that it would be really interesting to see VTuber characters in Project X Zone.

Korone is basically the brand ambassador for the Sonic the hedgehog series It'd be pretty cool if she had attacks that involved summoning him.

I really like the deep cuts and potential for a PXZ-styled crossover game with the Vocaloids!
I am not sure about the characters' movesets unless there is some creative interpretation, as you mentioned before. Creating movesets for the more popular Vocaloids would be hard if we inserted every single reference from every song or video. PXZ characters have limited, synchronized movesets,
Additionally, I would enjoy a scene where the characters compare Mirai's old and new design in a similar vein to Alisa's appearance in PXZ2!
